So sorry to hear that, Bosh. Typical of you to write such a lovely post at such a hard time. You are always the voice of reason on here. And like others have said it was always nice hearing your just backs including mentions of your dad.

Wisting was excellent on BBC4 I think.

Just in the middle of Quicksand on Netflix. Very good, too.

Handmaid's Tale season 3 just started. I feel throughly depressed during nearly every episode but still love watching it. One of the best out there at the moment IMO.

Ambulance on bbc1 (Thursdays I think) is an excellent documentary on some amazing people who work for the ambulance service. It's really uplifting and also entertaining. We'll worth a watch.

Agree, the latest episode was one of the best. Absolutely hilarious.

We need a system - any system...

I like the analysis of the first Liverpool goal the other night.

Anyway, it's lucky he didn't mention our system of punting it to the opposition from kick offs.

That's a surprise, he's denied all the allegations. He's probably 'no commented' all the way through the interview. The irony there is I wish he'd used that strategy throughout his career.

I'm pretty sure his arrogance and general attitude got him a few extras years on that sentence. He really was a revolting specimen. And thick too. The photo he took of the 'lost' fireplace that was dated after the burglary!

Last week's 24 in Police Custody was even better. That stuck up bloke with a couple of stately homes who thought he was above the law. Tried to stage a burglary for the insurance and got 8 years!

Ishmael Miller
at 17:01 1 Feb 2019

Remember him when we had him on loan. Nice gesture from him not taking his wages until he gets fit.

An interesting story coming out of Tranmere: Rovers manager Micky Mellon has revealed that his striker Ishmael Miller has asked for his wages to be frozen until he returns to fitness following surgery on a hamstring injury. Miller, formerly of West Brom, Nottingham Forest, Blackpool and Huddersfield joined the League Two side last month, scored on his debut but was forced off injured in his second game.

“At this moment, Ishmael’s not getting paid by Tranmere,” Mellon said in an interview with BBC Radio Merseyside. “He came in to see me about a week ago and we had the conversation where he said to me ‘Stop my wages until I get fit again’.

“He wants Tranmere Rovers to keep moving forward while he’s out injured, which is possibly the first time I’ve heard that. I need everybody to understand how big a gesture that is from Ishmael at this moment in time.

“If he’d kept getting paid and waited until he got fit, nobody would’ve blinked an eyelid as that’s what’s supposed to happen. People might say ‘Well, he’s in a position where he can do that’. Well, he doesn’t have to do that. He knows how tight things are at this club and where we’re at in terms of what we’re trying to do.

“I think it says an awful lot about him as a man. Often footballers get bad publicity, but he thought about us and Tranmere first.” Much like Juan Mata’s Common Goal chairty, I can’t see this wheeze catching on in training grounds around the country.

3 loans down, just a few more needed and we'll be Watford. We want 4!

Rob Green was talking about Kane almost coming on loan to us on 5live last week. You sound pretty adamant that he wasn't though so I guess you know more on this.

They were talking about Shelvey on 5live last night. Henry Winter was saying that his reluctance to play in the U21 under the previous manager had sort of marked his card and that he wasn't exactly flavor of the month amongst Southgate's team and had no chance of being in this squad.

McClaren incoming

If you've got some free time, you could start drafting the 'End of McClaren' article. On top of that, there's always the epic one to get started on when Big Tone finally moves on. That's going to be a corker! Possibly a book deal in there for you.

Jack Butland - pulling no punches!
at 17:36 8 May 2018

On the 5live Monday night club, Andy Townsend was adamant that it wasn't 'Sparky's' fault and that the chairman and people in charge of recruitment should take a lot of the blame for the Stoke relegation. The inference seemed to be that Hughes didn't choose these players - laughable!

Some of the media just don't want to offend Hughes. Later on they brought up the subject of Bojan who had been really good. According to Adam he fell out with Hughes after returning from injury and was loaned out. Charlie Adam without putting the boot in said nothing positive about Hughes. What a surprise.

It's not often I agree with Barton but his tweet about Hughes having the ability to make teams continually worse was spot on.

Great watching him ranting as he walked off the pitch at the end. He seems to be shrinking too.

It'll be interesting to see how he reacts to the first player who gives him some negative feedback on his methods/tactics.

Could be another Big Jim Magilton moment.
