This shirt is different, hence better than the 2024/25 shirt. WE NOW HAVE A RED STRIPE IN THE MIDDLE! Much better, I wish to christ that we could also have stripes on the back with a white square & the players number within in black. Just like in the sixty's. We're not going to be playing in Europe any time soon, so we don't have to please EUFA re: the back. |

He's no great loss, I'd never heard of him until Saints interest. He'll be a first team player at Rangers whereas he'd only be a back up (Bragg is a better player) at Saints. No doubt, that's what he thought, hence signing for Rangers. |

It would good if we did get Potter. I'm wondering if he isn't too expensive for Sports Republic. Their three appointments since Ralph left have been on the cheap (relatively speaking). If we are to get out of this mire then we need someone with Premier league experience. Either Potter or David Moyes. They'll have a big bonus if they keep us up. If they don't then we'll part company. It's our only chance of survival. |

I wouldn't want him back. We've seen the best of him and we'd only be comparing him to the player he was, I should think unfavourably most of the time. I'd sooner have Flynn Downes and the other central midfielders we've replaced him with. If he wanted to come back, it's a bit like your ex wife (or husband) wanting to come back when your happily re-married. We've moved on, so leave well alone. |

As the Supremes once (almost) sang, "Nathan Jones you'll be gone before long". What fantastic hindsight. My dream was for Marcello Gallardo, I pictured myself in my old 2010 Saints shirt (with the red sash) in homage to him as it's akin to his beloved River Plate . Now he's out of the picture I'm looking at the scenario of by the time the new bloke goes Everton would have sacked Frank. Then hopefully our betters (the board) will grab him with both hands. After 52 season's I've decided to give up my lovely positioned seat in block 32,and it took me quite a few seasons of moving seat's to get there. Lot's of reasons e.g. VAR, the vast sums of money swishing around in the Premier League. It's just a money making machine for all involved other than the poor supporter (we're just "heritage fan's"now). I am disenfranchised. The results at home over the last five year's have been awful. The season before last we got 52 points, but we had the 2nd worst record at home. The dream for me is to see Saints play in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. We didn't have a shot on target!, we defended ok but were crap going forward. I just can't take defeat after defeat anymore. I can't bounce back after a couple of day's like I used to & look forward to the next game. For my mental well being I am going to stay away. After the last five seasons I am not going to put myself through suffering a relegation again. WE ARE SLEEP WALKING INTO RELEGATION. What more does Ralph need to do to prove it's not working. He is not motivating the player's, he's lost it. All he did in the latter half of last season was to prove that he is not up to the task of turning it around. Don't blame injury's, all clubs get injury's, it's his squad & his decisions and they're not working. The proof of this is that WE GOT JUST 14 POINTS IN THE LAST 21 League GAMES ( plus another 0-9). I can't see myself going back untill he's gone, and I forsee that to be next (2022/23) season in the second division ( I'm not into all this re-branding lark). Oh for the heady day's of Koeman, he got us playing & winning, but no one liked him though. Where as everyone loves Ralph & he has got us playing badly & losing! See you all the season after next after a big clear out and the start of another fresh begining. |

I remember 46 years ago today. We won 3 - 0 at Everton, but alas as Birmingham drew we were RELEGATED. I remember for ages afterwards, when I walked around Southampton thinking it is now a second class city. |

We''ll be able to compare Redmond to the Bournemoth left winger (Fraser) on Saturday. In my opinion (so that's 99% fact) Fraser has overtaken Redmond. N.R. won't get injured because he wouldn't dream of going in for a 50-50. When did you last see him win a tackle,when did you last see him make a proper tackle?. Ive seen it from Elyonouzi . No, too often when he is going forward with the ball, as soon as a big ugly opponent get's to him he then looks to pass it instead of being brave & go past him. HE IS LIGHT WEIGHT. I'm a Saint's supporter ,so I want him to do well, but i'm not naive and love isn't blind.

I can give the exact dates if asked, but it would be either the 73/74 season or 76/77 season. I can think of another occasion, but that was winter time (not a sunny day) during the 1970/71 season (lost 2-5) I thought I erased all memory of these occasions, but its all come flooding back. |
