I see his comments were made to NewBettingOffers.co.uk. He wouldn't have a financial motive for this would he?

Begs the question: who did we lose to when Iain Macleod served in office for 30 days before passing away in 1970?

Yeah. I was imagining steam coming out of Clive's ears if he could have heard it!

Hartlepool or Torquay
at 12:25 14 Jun 2021

Torquay all the way. They've been my "second" club for about 25 years now, being only just over an hour away from where I live. Lovely little ground with a good atmosphere. Gutted I can't go the the final as Ashton Gate virtually on my doorstep, but we are away that weekend - in Devon!

First time watching QPR / Reason why you became a fan
at 13:15 19 Jan 2021

Being born and breed in a small Somerset town, I never really followed a team in my earliest years. It was only in 1973 when my Junior School football team started playing in blue and white hoops, and one of my friends who knew more about football than me said, “these are QPR shirts — we should support them”, so I did! The shirt was definitely a factor!

Sadly, none of my school friends followed my lead, so it was only when I started college in 1979 that I meet a couple of other QPR supporters. One of them could drive, so he drove the three of us the 30-odd miles up to the old Eastville stadium (now an Ikea). The internet tells me this was 3rd November 1979 and we won 3-1, but all I remember is the Rovers fans singing “Doc, Doc, Docherty, who the fu**king hell is he?”!

I'll be there. A rare visit by the R's to the West Country is one of the few times I get to see them play!

Love your work Clive. I would gladly pay. Don't post much, listened to one podcast, so keeping things exactly as they are would be great - although I did used to love the Away Days! Not sure what Patreon is though - thought it was an exercise bike!

How much exercise do you get a week?
at 13:10 10 Jul 2020

Great stuff on here as usual, so not much to add other than my own situation. i am a right short-ass (5ft 3ish) 57 year old hovering around 71-72kg (11st 4). According to the BMI calculation I should weigh about 9 1/2 Stone, which i haven't done since I was about 14! Even when I was a youngster playing football 2-3 times a week, I was around 10 Stone.

I have an office job, so try to exercise a bit (pre-lockdown gym a couple of times a week) but being self employed not easy to find the time. Just under a year ago though I started to go to Man V Fat football. No one has mentioned it on this thread, so don't know if anyone else goes? Great if you want to lose weight and haven't played footie in a while. Plenty of support to help you lose weight; food tips and advice etc.

Insurance renewal Be Careful.
at 13:07 26 Mar 2018

I have been an insurance broker for over 30 years and have seen lots of changes over the years, with fewer and fewer independent brokers as regulation gets tighter, which only benefits the large companies. Some good points on here, but I always remind customers that insurance companies aren't charities and are only interested in looking after their shareholders. Plus a lot of what you are talking about on here may be aggregators (comparison sites) or even large Brokers, but again they are only interested in looking after their profit margins. I would always suggest speaking to at least one local, independent broker (if you can find one). It may not be the cheapest, but can be, and you should get sound advice from a human being!

I am also no expert, but making people leave their family homes, where they may have lived for decades, at the behest of a third party is never going to end well is it? (Ireland, Palestine, Cyprus etc.)
