Presumably Phil Parkes Lovely bloke. Once bought a pair of football boots off him when he ran a sports shop in either Teddington or Twickenham
There was also a Parksy shop in the Uxbridge Road by the rozzer shop, loved going in there as a kid
My old dad took me to an open day once in the early 70s where you could take a pen against him...great experience for a young fan and will always remember it.

Ahhh Childhood memories there Re Parksy's my old Nan god bless her would walk from Ealing Broadway all the way down the Uxbridge road to get me the latest QPR Merchandise, I think she kept that shop going in the early eighties,
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Colossus of a keeper - certainly my number one. Never ever seemed to be in a flap - should have got more England caps, would have done but for Shilton & Clemence. How England could wish for such strength in depth now.

Same with me, I bloody loved that shop. I used to stay with my old man every other weekend and a few times we'd leave the pub long enough for him to take me to Parksy's so I could pick out my shirt and maybe get a new ball too. It might as well have been disneyland I got so excited about going there.

As Simmo said there used to be something quite exhilarating as a young lad going into Sports Shops , even getting some Dubbin for the your football Boots made you feel like King of the hill, oh for the days of Parksy's & Steve Perryman Sports it P*sses all over the jumble sales that are Sports Direct
