So whilst hedge born is a little left of centre what the hell is "skainsmate"?

Yeah, someone found a page of Shakespearian insults and that was the one that took off. I think it had three columns - adjective, adverb and noun and you picked your mix. So in modern English you could have "Stupid (Adj) Effing (adverb) C**t (noun)" or in Shakespearian you'd have "errant (advb) hedgeborn (adj) skainsmate (noun)"
IIRC there were some pretty good things in there, but I suppose old Shakey Bill knew a bit about words. |  | | |
