Dale have released their 2018/2019 Training Wear...

https://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/news/2018/june/club-shop--training-wear-2018/

In a word...awful. It looks horrendously cheap. The items with the Errea logo shading down the sleeves may have been OK if they didn't have ROCHDALE A.F.C. plastered across the back. I bet there are Junior teams out there that look more professional than this rubbish.

I really hope this isn't a sign of the quality to expect come the 30th June...

I agree. I particularly dislike the errea lettering down the sleeves on one of the items.

I wonder how much lower the sales of training wear are compared to when Nike made our kits? I for one bought quite a bit of the Nike gear, but none since.

Training wear, much like kits, is very easy to get wrong. And we’ve certainly managed that.

Really disappointed in Errea as they usually have decent designs for the training and leisure wear but, even forgetting the god-awful ‘Rochdale AFC’ bit for a second, this is such a poor looking effort. What’s with the visible seams, especially the ones at the collar? There is nothing to identify this as exclusive to a club either as there’s almost no use of a third colour on each piece of clothing. For example, last season we had some black tracksuit tops with a clever blue and white stripe design, Shrewsbury had navy with amber and white in the same style.

It appears Errea are having a very hit and miss season with their shirts next year, this lot can be added to the ‘miss’ pile. 3/10

Actually 2/10. There really is no forgetting that ‘Rochdale AFC’ on everything. Is it to ensure we don’t lose any players at service stations when playing down south?

The guy modelling our clubs training kit has moobs and protruding nipples. Very disrespectful.

Am I missing something here?

These new designs are intended to be sold to fans.
The fans aren't consulted and get designs they don't want.
Not as many are sold.

First rule of sales is to listen to what your customers want. Surely?

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Would not wear that if they sponsored me. Nasty incident with a jacket and gas fire around 84. Having said that would not wear it anyway!

I'm not too keen on that lettering on the back. Like an under 7's teams.

I have to agree that it does look very poor indeed and hardly inspires me to want to go and buy any.

The training wear debate is a tough one as we won't sell anywhere near enough to justify a bespoke option, however in order to shift some of it, it needs to be appealing to those supporters that it is marketed at.

This new range fails to tick any box. Whilst I can appreciate the requirement to have 'generic' Errea stock to an extent, make the most of it at least and try to jazz it up. You could argue they have done this with Rochdale A.F.C on the back but people don't buy a product for what is on the back, they buy it because of what is on the front and that is practically nothing other than a bog standard black/navy product with our badge applied.

In the past seasons I have quite liked our Errea range, it has been tailored to our clubs needs and the same rule of thumb applies with other Errea clubs who have the same design but a colour scheme to match them. My kids have loads of the gear but I will struggle to buy them the new stuff when it is so unappealing.

I am not a moaner for moanings sake, however this is poor and hardly conducive to sales.
