Bury FC and the EFL 08:09 - Aug 28 with 11428 viewsNortholt_Rs

Horrible, horrible news for all Bury fans and for the whole town. A complete tragedy. What on earth have the EFL been doing about this situation? How could they allow some w*nker with zero money to buy the club for £1 ???? Perhaps they should’ve taken some of their focus off hounding us over FFP to actually try and protect their member clubs. I am sure many of you are, like me, absolutely gutted for the Bury fans. This could so easily have been QPR FC a few years ago. It is time for the EFL to be ripped apart and to start again. Bury FC (and quite possibly BWFC) will be Shaun Harvey’s legacy.

No, it isn’t. The FL have acted against their own guidelines to boot Bury out and now their response, to a 125-year-old club, is “you aren’t a member so we ain’t talking to you”. It’ll likely not make a difference in the end but good on the Bury fans for leaving no stone unturned in a fight against such an incompetent organisation.

So they should allow clubs that don't pay tax and other creditors who have provided goods/services/labour in good faith, to continue?

Not indefinitely but they could at least stick to their own guidelines and expect a legal challenge. They could also explain why Bury weren’t allowed to start the season unlike Bolton and Macclesfield as it looks from the outside that they were treated differently and made them a less viable prospect for any would-be purchaser in the process. They’ve not been liquidated.

But for how long?

You try not paying tax and see if you get treated 'differently'?!

Just don't see why football clubs should be able to continue 'trading' whilst not actually obeying the laws of the land.
