quite apt as Richard II reigned about 30 years after the initial Black Death and it cropped up again several times after the initial spread but didnt impact England as much as the continent in subsequent occasions

I was reading about an Australian holding company through work, which started out as a partnership of retail pharmacies. The two founders originally got together when one was forced to close his store temporarily because of an outbreak of bubonic plague in Sydney in the 1890s!

I appreciate that there wasn't any dragon either, but if there is a St.Georges Day, why isn't there a Dragons Day? Seems unfair that only one Turkish bloke should get recognised but the dragon doesnt.
