I'm sorry to hear that mate.you should have received help that is wrong.
Myself i have not received a penny off the government either.

But it is what it is.
4 years wasted in negotiations to end up with a deal the same as we started or worse.
Sold our fishing industry down the river.
No protection for workers rights.
But you would not expect a Tory government to look after workers rights would you?.
But

I've never seen the country so divided by this brexi t vote. But that is what the tories do.
Let's all move on and move forward and try to rebuild the mess this country is in.
Let's unite and beat this virus together

Not as if the socialist have helped to bring the country together. Refusing to accept the referendum result, putting as many obstacles in the way as they can. Even socialist Wales voted to leave. Time to forget the past and use the opportunities created to help everyone in the UK to prosper.

50 new trade deals signed.
Our fishermen get more fish and even more over a 5 year period plus £100 million investment to create more jobs.

Apparently, this deal allows the EU to set their own tariffs on importing our fish

Refusing to accept referendum results cuts both ways, Theresa May and a number of current and past ministers voted against the WAG referendum results back in the day!

Wouldn't that be the purpose of the opposition, to oppose govt and hold them to account. Democracy, is more than putting a cross of a piece of paper once every few YEARS.

No, our fishermen won't get more fish as the EU can set whatever tariffs they like on our fish, and we have already sold a lot of our rights to foreign companies , as has been explained on here many times.

Its a crap deal.

At Budget time in March 2021:
The UK National Debt is estimated to be £1.82 trillion.
Labour could not have exceeded this.

As has been explained to you, those sold qiotas don't exist anymore. The new fishing deal is the deal.

Do you have a link explaining how this works going forward? Genuine question.

So, the companies that were granted the franchises have had them cancelled? It's not about quotas, it's the right to fish in the waters, and the EU can set whatever tariffs they like

This is the clearest version I’ve seen:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/46401558

It’s fair to say that the fishermen aren’t particularly chuffed with it.

How exactly does this country unite?

Looking around social media, little chance .

People who are called vile/scum for simply casting a vote aren't exactly enamoured with that .

When this country quits class war then we can begin.

Until then,no chance.

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

I wouldn't say it's class war. It's more a misinformation war

Thanks

I see much class war attitudes, maybe this and other site is responsible for that. You seem an independent minded soul and credit to you for that.

We still have a country where people are brought up to feel superior by virtue of birth /family and to expect others to in some way look up to them. These people aim to keep others below them socially and economically and politically.

We also have the objects of this contempt quite proud to be "lower" than them .

Good points. I still see the little Englander attitude in many people in this country, who still think we have an empire and that we are seen as a superpower and respected worldwide because of this.

That has long gone, and we are no longer special. It's similar with Americans, they still believe in the American dream and American exceptionalism.Neither is the case, we are just another country right now, and I believe this will become more apparent after Brexit reality sets in.
