Hilton Valentine 10:22 - Jan 30 with 1186 viewsted_hendrix

Hilton Valentine has only gone and passed away, He was the guy playing the Gretsch Tennessean guitar with The Animals back in 1964 on their hit 'House Of The Rising Sun'.
Of all the guitar intro's in the world this was for me the best and number one guitar intro ever, played to perfection, perfectly clean and the first time I heard it at the age of bloody 14 I thought back then 'WTF' ?

Thanks for introducing me to the guitar, RIP.

Time waits for no Man etcetera.......................

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Hilton Stewart Paterson Valentine.

Christ that's some name for a boy born in North Shields in 1943.

Great band of blues musicians. He's gone to jam with Rory, Jimmi and all the guys.

Found out that he lived in Wallingford about 20 miles from where we now live, I'd have loved to have bumped into him and talked nonsense about the old times as old gits sometimes do.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.
