Another fan of Lock here. Funny man, loaded with original material, rarely saw any of his work fall flat. As mentioned by someone else, Chelsea, but never held that against him. He has kids, wish them well.
The undefeated winner of Carrot In A Box. He had me in tears at times with his humour but today, for a different reason. RIP Sean, Cats won't be quite the same any more.
in the early 90s me & my mates used to go to loads of comedy clubs around London. Plenty around West London (Kings Head in Acton and Ha Bloody Ha in Hanwell, Rosies in Chiswick, The George in Chiswick, even that place off Goldhawk Road that was an American diner for a while) Camden Dingwalls, Red Rose in Finsbury Park, some place up near Archway, another in Hampstead. Each week we'd comb through the Time Out comedy listings to decide where to go that week and if we saw Sean Lock or Alan Davies or the Rubber Bishops (Bill Bailey's double act) playing then we'd go there. He was just a naturally funny bloke and was really good at responding to the audience and going off on what appeared to be (but probably weren't) surreal unscripted tangents. 15 Storeys High is well worth watching as well, I've got both series on DVD but I leant it to a mate and never got it back.

Ha bloody ha, at the viaduct. Christ, that takes me back. Think I also saw him at the Queen Victoria in Ealing Broadway. Can't add to what others have said. Desperately sad. RIP
Such dreadful news - absolutely gutted. I saw him live a few years back and he was excellent. He leaves a massive hole in the comedy world that can't be filled.
