Well, what an embarrassment that was. Got their arses right royally handed to them. Even worse than 1981 which was the previous biggest win since it became Europe vs USA at 18 and a half to 9 and a half.

Not going to crumble this time for a variety of reasons. 1.8 out of the top 10 players in world rankings are US and they are playing like it. 2.Look at the Major winners and Fed Ex Cup winners all American except for Rahm And Matsuyama so they were playing well 3. Home course set up for long hitters and home crowd (some classless wan*kers) all favor US. 4.European squad too old and playing very poorly including McIlroy who is sitting tomorrow morning. 5.First time in years America sank all the critical putts, hit incredible long woods and irons and played to their abilities and its only day 1. I feared it would be over by Saturday night and it well could be.Worse still it looks like the era of dominance by the US is just starting IMO
Basically all of that. US just much better than Europe, even had Europe played their absolute best.

Well there's Robert MacIntyre and Laurie Canter certainly and Seamus Power a strong favourite to succeed who's playing on the US tour.....
There are very few Europeans in the top 100 world ranked players right now. Of those who didn't play over the weekend, and who may have the potential to compete with the American team, you're looking at Perez, McIntyre, Noren, Migliozzi, Detry, Wallace, Hojgaard and Canter. Power has won on the PGA tour this year, but isn't playing anywhere near the standard of golf needed to compete at the Ryder Cup.
A few of those named have peaked and are declining in form (I'm looking at you Matt Wallace & Victor Perez), those who are up and coming need to improve an awful lot more over the next two years.
Then again, home advantage is significant. Gleneagles and Paris were set up to be like European Tour events rather than PGA tour events. The result will be closer next time around, but this is an exceptional American team who will be very hard to beat, anywhere.
Mcilroy crying, Poulter holding back tears acknowledging the great leadership of Paddy & Caroline (Padraig's wife in case you somehow missed her out on the course)
I am hoping to see Mrs Warburton and Mrs Eustace in the dug-out tomorrow night, full kit, as just cannot see how these lads can do what they are paid to do without their wife's + girlfriends going to work with them.
Solheim Cup is a class event compared to this nonsense.

Wot,no Viktor Hovland in that analysis?Brightest young European talent for years. Too many old legs this time,no support allowed, the usual Yank boorishness and chicanery....won't happen in Italy. Now if we could only find some emerging Italian talent or slip the Molinari Brothers some yoof pills.....

I did say of those who didn't play over the weekend. Of the Italian players, Guido Migliozzi is the up and coming player and has a realistic chance of making the team next time around. Francesco Molinari's form has slumped and he needs to rediscover his mojo.

This European Team was DOA at Whistling Straits IMO.The US Team was packed full of top 10 talent and more importantly playing incredible golf .They had multiple Major winners,Fed Ex Cup champion and the Olympic gold medal winner .The course was set up to bomb and chip plus the home crowd was the usual mix of fans and fuc*ing clowns totally one sided with any fans allowed from Europe .Their team is tried and tested from the Presidents Cup which help identify many of the potential partners in the team matches .Once they got rolling it was like trying to stop a train which will roll on for the next 10 years sadly. Europe has to find Tournament ready talent ,proven winners who will not only embrace the pressure but excel in the moment for 2023.We have some in the pipeline but for everyone Europe has America has multiple and all ready to step in and deliver . Europe needs a team tournament in the odd years like the Presidents Cup or else join forces with the International side .It will take this combined force to stop this US domination . I truly feel bad for our next Captain unless he can find a magic pill ASAP

True Clareman (where in Clare btw)? The US pick was spot on, in with the fearless new, out with the failed established 'names'. We're toast for a while i reckon, although home soil and crowds help enormously.

But haven’t they always had the majority of the worlds top ten players in their team in previous years? This time they played to their world rankings. And we had a lot of ageing players coming to the end of their Ryder cup careers. We need to replace them all at once, which isn’t easy. I haven’t watch as little of a Ryder cup since 1983,and I can’t say I’m sorry I missed it.
