Lucky I’m working for the next 3 nights because I wouldn’t enjoy listening to their bores for the whole of this Ryder Cup. I was planning on going to either this one or the next, but I’d end up having several rows with their fans I think. It’s a game of golf not a war. Imagine how bad it will get once the beer starts flowing later on. [Post edited 24 Sep 2021 13:37]

Yes chances are the US fans will only get increasingly tiresome as the weekend goes on.

I've got Hovland to be top European points scorer and Europe to win the whole thing. [Post edited 24 Sep 2021 14:17]

The US have had a great spell, hitting some really incredible shots.

| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

Not going to crumble this time for a variety of reasons. 1.8 out of the top 10 players in world rankings are US and they are playing like it. 2.Look at the Major winners and Fed Ex Cup winners all American except for Rahm And Matsuyama so they were playing well 3. Home course set up for long hitters and home crowd (some classless wan*kers) all favor US. 4.European squad too old and playing very poorly including McIlroy who is sitting tomorrow morning. 5.First time in years America sank all the critical putts, hit incredible long woods and irons and played to their abilities and its only day 1. I feared it would be over by Saturday night and it well could be.Worse still it looks like the era of dominance by the US is just starting IMO
| Ryder Cup thread on 08:18 - Sep 25 with 1349 views | CamberleyR | Before it started I thought the US would win it by six points and after that first day I'd be amazed it won't be at least that. Since it started to be Europe Vs USA in 1979, I think that is Europe's worst single day since 1981 when they lost the second day foursomes and fourballs 7-1. They ended up losing that match 18 and a half to nine and a half. Europe need to try and win today's matches at least 5-3 to give themselves a fighting chance in the singles which you'd think is pretty unlikely. Harrington with his captaincy picks before the tournament and his pairings during it is looking a really poor captain. | |

| Ryder Cup thread on 14:31 - Sep 25 with 1237 views | themodfather | usa are ripping into us, every mistake we made is a goner, them? it would bounce out of a bunker and roll to inches of the hole! but usa right now are the better team and should be with 8 of the world top 10 in their team. | | | |

Why oh why does Harrington keep picking Casey and Westwood? At least he had the courage to drop McIlroy. Harrington doesn't seem to have any inspirational qualities, can't gee anyone up. Usual boorish crowd,no witty chantsor remarks. If I hear anothe "Yooessay" I'm going to kill someone.

Casey and Westwood made the team on World / European points so he picked Lowry ,Poulter and Garcia which is turning our like rubbish to nobodys surprise. Picking players based on their past glory is just plain stupid but setting up your pairings and not making changes after the morning is a worse crime IMO. The bottom line is America left another 6 + players that would walk on to any team,Reed, Simpsom,Na,Kisner ,Horschel etc and they just have the talent we have dinosaurs its not a fair fight now and going forward jesus help us

No I'm saying Harrington keeps picking them for the Foursomes/Fourballs when clearly they're not entirely at the races.Fitzpatrick in that category as well.Apart from one monster putt just now Casey has shaved more holes than a gynecologist. Still,we've only got a year to wait until the next one - 2022 at Marco Simone,Italy.

Yes I agree. I would have quietly dropped them after the first day. Is it because they're his mates? Not picking Rose rather than Poulter looks like a big mistake too. But as Clairemann says, we need to move on the old guard and get some aggressive younger players in. Have we not got the talent coming through, because why do the old timers keep qualifying?

Well there's Robert MacIntyre and Laurie Canter certainly and Seamus Power a strong favourite to succeed who's playing on the US tour.....
