African cup of nations 12:08 - Dec 22 with 5184 viewsknocker

If it is to go ahead, haven't heard any more about whether our players will be available for Bournemouth. Originally boxing day was cut off date and we were trying to get permission to let them play on 27th. Liverpool and other Premier league clubs say they don't want their players going till after 2nd January and if this is case, surely it must apply to us. If not its a joke. Let's hope its called off.

I don't quite understand the hoo-hah about this, AFCON has taken place around the same time of year, every two years, since 1957.

For balance, I do agree with the points about every two years being excessive.

I also thought that the early release is for COVID quarantine reasons, but I might be wrong on that.

Anyway, hopping in the car now to drive home to West Cork, meet the family and head for a few pints of Christmas Porter.

Enjoy the day everyone, chat to you all tomorrow.

A world cup[ every 2 years in stupid and would be mayhem.

Coming from Arsene Wenger of all people it beggars belief.

As for Afcon - it's one of the reasons I think Seny might not be as sought out by the top top clubs.

Genuine question how many African Keepers play for PL sides?

I don't know but often think that position esepcaially it works against you.

Yes but it was a long time after that before it impacted on the Football League.
