Injuries are killing us, and the limitations of the squad are being brutally exposed? I dont know. Have we really played any better than last season? I'm not sure we have.

| The Emperor has no clothes.......or does he? on 22:08 - Nov 13 by Wegerles_Stairs | He's been here for EIGHT years. When does his role actually start to be questioned? When successive coaches bring in their own players and ignore the talent we've assembled on the training pitches. When we still haven't got a decent centre forward. When we continue to lack a winning mentality. It's bizarre how people don't question his role just because he was a great player for us. Exactly what the board wanted, but bizarre that people fall for it. |
He’s been here eight years and has delivered everything we needed when we came down in 2015: Solvency, stability, and sustainability. Success comes last but not after those three. As for the other stuff like a decent centre forward, wasn’t you attacking the fans for talking about selling Willock and lacking ambition recently? How do you think Willock got here?

| The Emperor has no clothes.......or does he? on 13:45 - Nov 13 by switchingcode | Remember back to his start where he lost 8 drew 1 of his first 10 games and some fans singing “sacked in the morning “and these fans are still around even last week some were posting he had taken us as far as he can.Beale looks like a good young coach and needs time to produce his own side and style you have to hope the management stand strong when results aren’t good and equally he stays loyal when the sides successful |
That's ridiculous if they are starting the "as far as he can" conversation. There's only so far anyone could take a club of Brentford's size, and that's probably about where they are now unless some state funded mega fund arrives. They might want to take a look at Charlton for where the "as far as he can" approach can get you.

| The Emperor has no clothes.......or does he? on 13:53 - Nov 13 by BuckR | Personally believe its a case the players are just shattered now to be honest, look at the options he has to bring on in their place ffs. Chair must have played nigh on every minute so far? Small squad like ours is always going to go through patches like this - hopefully World Cup break can act as a preseason for us |
That’s a fair point. To be honest I’m a bit concerned about teams physically imposing themselves on us nicking a goal and shithousing for a long period. However that wasn’t the case at Coventry.

His role is questioned all the time and has been from the minute he walked in
| The Emperor has no clothes.......or does he? on 10:38 - Nov 14 with 1358 views | NorthantsHoop | I came away from Coventry thinking where is all this going, then I remembered what being a QPR supporter for 47 years is about. We are a 2nd division side, a good one and improving and I think well respected for being that. In my 59 years on this earth, we have spent around 25 years in the top division in our whole history since our first daliance at the top in the late 1960s and it is nearly 30 years since we were last a regular top division team. I like the Championship it is an exciting league, I want promotion but not at the cost of the total sxxt show we had with Hughes and Redknapp. If Beale stays great, but if he goes sooner than expected then we plough on and continue the project with someone else. | | | |

| The Emperor has no clothes.......or does he? on 18:56 - Nov 13 by BazzaInTheLoft | Isn’t this just life in the Championship? Two promotions in twelve years is pretty good going. I don’t think we are terminal failures. Imagine being Preston or Bristol City who have spent an eternity in this league with nothing to show for it. Brentford are the exception that proves the rule that life in the Championship is a slog of games with very little for the majority to celebrate. That isn’t Ferdinand’s fault which is where I assume your post was going. [Post edited 13 Nov 2022 18:58]

| The Emperor has no clothes.......or does he? on 17:19 - Nov 13 by PinnerPaul | Agree. Just looked at league table and 7 other clubs have lost 3 or more in the last 6. Swansea haven't won in those 6 either (5 draws and a loss for them) |
There are "winless runs" and "losing runs". They are not quite the same thing for me.If we had even managed a couple of draws, and a few goals in the last few games... we wouldn't be having this conversation. Continually losing, is harder to put right...than turning draws into wins. Just an opinion.

I very much agree with your first two paras (won't comment on the last one, I've not done a forensic trawl through the posts in question) But I think it's possible to, on one hand, generally support both the existence of a DoF role and think Ferdinand has done good things, but on the other feel that the DoF has not quite worked as it should. Managers good and bad seem to have more ability to go their own way without reference to the strategy of player development. It might be that Les is too much of a nice guy to impose himself, or that he hasn't been given the backing of the board when it comes to imposing strategy on managers. I don't know, and I don't think we need to throw out the baby with the bathwater, but I would like to see things improve a bit. As usual we need to be realistic about how would do the job. People forget what a mess the place was in when Ferdinand was appointed after years of Redknapp (still in post at the time) and mistakes by Fernandes. IMO only loyalty to the club by Ferdinand brought him here and I doubt anyone better would have taken it on, so I think him being a legend as a player is not totally irrelevant - he has stuck with us when I think he could have done OK elsewhere and I wish a few people would remember that. Frankly, being here the last eight years has probably not been good for his CV when before that his previous job was six years on the coaching staff at Spurs. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Fair enough. but we're not 'continually losing', otherwise we wouldn't be 7th!

We have ‘continually’ lost 4 of the last 5 games though….

| The Emperor has no clothes.......or does he? on 22:57 - Nov 17 with 678 views | numptydumpty | Beale has been digging out players over not following instructions. It's difficult sometimes to know what to say when faced with consistent questions by media without occasionally looking a bit of a dope !!! But I do feel he does big himself up quite often, and when we lose he does seem to deflect blame. An observation not a criticism. But it does seem we are a very temporary stepping stone for him. Hope that's not myself taken in by random media and not the reality but Beales big test will be the next seven or eight games and the January window needs to be right this season. Otherwise if we start sliding down below mid table, can see Beales position being fragile. The stupidity of the hire and fire mentality within the modern game. Has Beale already outlived over half of the championship team managers already !!! MAD .... [Post edited 17 Nov 2022 22:58]
