Social media just gets worse and worse. Mainly now full of awful and/or extreme political content, racism, and rage bait posts deliberately placed (often the same thing over and over again by several different group pages) to generate nasty comments/arguments. In short, you aren't missing much. And then you have the tiny penis, self loathing keyboard warrior types whose lives must be so miserable that they spend them doing things like abusing football players online. Great that we're still paying off a fine for something that happened over a decade ago and could have broken the club while others get a slap on the wrist. Wonderful stuff. |

Whittakers in general is very good. The creamy milk chocolate is a winner. |

Very good. Proof that there's still some decent content on twitter despite Musk's ongoing ruination of what was once a great platform. |

Every now and then you see a Facebook post about the channel 4 live Italian football games broadcast back then, along the lines of how great it was. A classic example of nostalgia overriding reality. My memory of it is thinking good there's a game on and then being bored shitless during said game. |

All about Rs is excellent, I enjoy watching their stuff. |

Fantastic finish. At full speed it can look like a miskick or even an own goal, but the slowmo really captures it. |

You clearly weren't at Millwall away in the league cup in 1987. Although the atmosphere was far from boring for the couple of hundred of us in the away end. [Post edited 4 Feb 6:40]

Watching the scenes from the ground, captured superbly by the all about rs guys, it really is a special and rare place. It will be a sad, sad day if we ever leave it. |

This. My initial thought was dive/no penalty because of the way Smyth went down. A more "natural" fall may have yielded a different result. |

We may be moving into the succession planning phase sooner rather than later. I wonder how many of the people that slammed him are the same that said Eze was lazy and wouldn't make it? |

Defo BS and I think his much admired dad may have confirmed that. |

Argentina also lost against Saudi Arabia at that world cup. Doesn't make the Saudis a good team. |

The a league is indeed poor. It was better 10 years ago than it is now. Football is down the pecking order of sports here. They much prefer sports where 5 or less countries really care so they can pump money into development and pretend they're a global sporting powerhouse. The media don't want football to succeed, yet participation among kids is very high and facilities very good. There is certainly potential. Australia's path to world cup qualifying is too easy, meaning they're getting in every time and this leads to a lack of urgency to improve the a league. The media will wet itself for the week or so they're involved and then go back to putting the game down. Likewise thousands of people will attend live sites in the early hours until they realise that an actual global game is quite tough to succeed at, quietly go back to their preferred sports or to watching the premier league, serie A etc on TV.. Been here 25 years now and 2006 was by far the best national team they've produced. The potential has always been here but not sure it will ever be realised. [Post edited 29 Jan 0:32]

What, plucky little underdogs Wrexham in beating all odds fairytale? Really pisses me off that some people I work with here in Sydney, who otherwise have little or no interest in football, are now following Disney FC thanks to the TV series. So yes, fk them. |
