Migration, growth and housing 09:33 - May 8 with 3113 viewsAnotherJohn

Probably, the publication source and authorship team won't appeal to many, but this report repeats what some of us have been saying for a while on these threads about per capita GDP, net fiscal impact, and pressures on infrastructure. It is hard to deny the core argument.

Anyone with more than an ounce of sense could see what mass immigration can and will do to a country, some choose to close their eyes and take the moral ground, whilst screaming racist at anyone who said anything against their mantra.

It's been said many times, but I'll say it again "this country is f****d"

Thng is, being against uncontrolled immigartion is only racist if you scream against people of a different colour or ethnicity.

Seeing as we get a lot of white undesirables coming here too then maybe think again.

truthfully, we need a certain level of immigration but we can't keep letting crooks, criminals and benefits chasing wasters in here.

Genuine refugees and immigrants we need, yes. The undesirables, no.

We have had loads of white Ukrainians coming here when there has been no conflict in the majority of the country only in the eastern provinces. They are not desperate refugees, most are economic migrants, yet nothing said about these

"Genuine refugees and immigrants we need, yes. The undesirables, no."

And there lays the problem, deporting undesirable refugees isn't easy, with appeal after appeal in our courts, then appeals to the ECHR, it must cost an absolute fortune in legal costs, and then most of them are allowed to stay even after all that.

I'd also like to see the human rights lawyers pay all court costs if their claim is found to be frivolous. And any refugee (legal or otherwise) that is convicted of a serious crime within a certain time scale, be deported (with no appeal) immediately after being found guilty.

Sadly, this is very unlikely to happen under the spineless conservative government we now have, and there is absolutely no chance of it happening when labour take over.

I believe, though may be proved wrong, that Australia (maybe New Zealand) give you 2 hances but get a third strike and they send you back where you came from.

An old colleague had a mate who moved out there, got caught speeding twice then drink driving and was sent back to Blighty.

So are people protesting against the white ones as well?

From where I look, people weren’t bothered about white refugees from Ukraine, and were even having them stay in their family homes with them.

It’s the brown and black ones people are against

Not me mate, it's the criminals and undesirables I don't want here. I don't care where they come from.

Ukraine is actually a great example, when Russia invaded and started bombing and shelling indiscriminately people needed somewhere safe to go. Those coming here don't want to be here permanently, they want to go home when the war is over, whenever that is, they are genuine refugees and maybe that's why there are very few protests about them.

Then you have this,

Yeah, the next strongest in their food chain just takes over. The only way to stop these crossings is to do the unthinkable, break international laws and sink them as soon as they enter our territorial waters.

They are not economics migrants they are fleeing from Russias committing war crimes . The Russians have target civilians since the start of their illegal invasions. Many examples of executing civilians, captured soldiers, missile and bombing attacks on schools , hospitals, civilians housing.

10,500 Ukrainian civilians killed including 500 children.
Your claim there is not conflict in most of Ukrainian is sheer nonsense.

Yeah I can see the difference.
But surely the ones who are in these gangs and making thousands from cannabis factories, don’t take the time to do asylum claims.
What’s the point? They don’t want a job or benefits.
Surely this is a totally different problem to the asylum seeking and other immigration?

It's the Wombe crossing...underground, overground. The drug cartels have miles of tunnel networks under that border but so many people cross there isn't room.

Those drug cartels must have learned from (or taught, I suppose) hamas.

Sinking them is definitely a bit extreme but surely there’s nothing wrong with picking them up and take them back to France, it’s a safe country after all. The EU will look after them well,

Well it's a lot extreme and I was also only being sarcastic. Enough people have died making that crossing.

We can't rely on French help no matter hwo much we pay them.

What exactly is the answer?

It seems very difficult to find an answer because the Western nations have got themselves in a tangle which is almost impossible to unpick. Basically, the present rate of immigration into developed countries is unsustainable, and eventually the framework of international law will have to change because the pressure will become too much. That is still some way in the future because of internal division and blind commitment to an expanded discourse of human rights, and the damage done by then will probably be irreversible.

They have to make asylum claims or apply for citizenship to stay here. There are a lot of people who are here illegally who were "trafficked" for use as protitutes and drug runners/dealers/mules. They still need to be allowed to stay here though. There's too much mooney at stake for these crime gangs to be caught out, they are clever and very well organised.

I was told by a police officer that an albanian business was being watched as a suspected front for drugs and money laundering. They couldn oen that business if they weren't allowed to be here.
