Summer outs 10:10 - Jan 20 with 1415 viewscpgerber

In hindsight, the players that left us in the summer were all "good business". Not least because we got money for them. And I really like the attitude (confirmed by CN recently) that if you're into you're 20's and still in the dev squad, you're not going to make it with us.

Willock on a good day could perhaps still have played a part, but all the others have been replaced by better options.

Kakay arguebly better than Santos, but neither would get a look into the squad as it is now.

Also interesting (a relief) to see that no-one that has left and made an impact or progress elsewhere. The opposite in some cases.

I wasn't bothered by losing anyone really. But surprised Kakay is unemployed , particularly looking at Plymouth's right back on Sat. Rumours he is going to Maidstone.. national league 2? Hes better than that surely?

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Well there must be a reason that another club at a higher level has not taken a punt on him.

I reckon he’s better than Ashby as well.

Willock , as he sits on the subs bench at Cardiff, must regret not having an independent agent who would have steered him right.

Also, fair play to Chris Willock for getting a 3 year contract at Cardiff. He knew, we knew, everyone apart from Cardiff knew that his hamstrings had gone and is not the player he once was. I hold no grudges against him for getting that contract somewhere else.

23 appearances this season, 1 goal, 1 assist. Only played the full 90 minutes twice. At least he's not had an injury though.

It's puzzling though.

Not up to scratch at Champ level, but he had his moments, especially going forward. Attitude always seemed decent. Good fitness record.

I don't think you can assume that just because a player hasn't been picked up he's no good, if we'd taken that attitude we'd have never signed Eze after he'd been bummed out by numerous clubs.

Clubs aren't beyond making mistakes in the transfer market, God knows we've made a few.

Didn't he turn down a loan move last season because he wanted to stay closer to his family? That probably limits his options.

It's very strange, a player who is only 27 years old played 98 championship games and can't find a league club.
For all his faults he always gave it a hundred percent and never hid, there must be worse players than him earning a living in the football league.

Just a guess based on his disinclination to go up north on loan, but Kakay may be limiting his choices to clubs in or near London.

I doubt agents are there to (even if they suggest otherwise) ensure the well being of their client in the sense of finding the club that is best for them and most likely to provide the best opportunities of regular first team football and as much on-field success as possible.

They're out to get the best ££ they can. I doubt they give a schit if the player is on the bench or not.

Maybe Kakay is going the Hogan Ephraim route and has other interests that appeal more than going down the leagues.

I still think we wasted Hogan Ephraim in his time here. His link up play with Taarabt in the golden season gets overlooked. Until he got injured that season he tore teams apart.

Never knowingly right.
