Council Tax on 20:44 - Mar 21 by JACKMANANDBOY | Some of the big contracts have criteria which almost automatically selects the supplier, I've seen it several times. |
It’s bordering on criminal.

Been going on forever, first company car I had was changed every 25,000 miles as there was a kickback to one of the directors, a FTSE 100 business with 900 cars in the fleet, I used to get three new cars some years. Later I worked in Threadneedle St. There was a guy with a big office on the floor where I worked, he didn't seem to do much after a while I asked a colleague who he was and what he did. I was told he was a lawyer who knew where the bodies were buried and he was untouchable, he did what he liked. Years later I found out he'd been running his own law firm from his office, he eventually left with a pension arrangement worth £500,000 a year and £1M as a redundancy payment. Council Tax on 21:04 - Mar 21 by Gwyn737 | Off the top of my head, stopped a number of strikes, reduced hospital waiting lists, banned no fault evictions, raised the minimum wage, reform of workers rights, overseen interest rate cuts, deportation thousands of illegal immigrants, launched planning reform to get us building, increased defence spending and started to repair relations with our European neighbours. As I said, I’m dissatisfied in many ways with their start but there have been some good points IMO. |
"Stopped a number of strikes" = Appeased their paymasters in the unions at huge expense. Unions that of course loved the idea of strikes in the run up to an election. "Banned no fault evictions" - Idiotic move that will continue to reduce the availability of rented housing. "Overseen interest rate cuts" - BOE MPC is independent from Government control. "Raised the minimum wage" - It goes up every year no matter who is in Govt. "Launched planning reform" - Already well down on their housebuilding targets, a target that seemed to have been plucked from the air in the first place as it was utterly unachievable. So, of these things that they've "achieved", very few actually are. Offset against the staggering incompetence displayed everywhere else after 14 years of preparing for Government, it doesn't seem a lot.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Appeased the paymasters - in the main agreed to independent pay bodies having to repair the Tories attempt to be nasty to public servants to cling to power. No fault evictions - I understand you have skin in the game and I’m sure you wouldn’t behave poorly. Sadly that’s not everyone’s experience. Save you anger for the awful landlords. Interest rate cuts - I wish everyone understood this Planning reform - it’s a start and better than what we’ve seen recently. Doesn’t seem to have been much? Well, you’ve cherry picked from the list so it doesn’t look as much. [Post edited 22 Mar 11:15]

The whole system is corrupt, the bigger the busines the more corrupt it is. The connection between the Senedd and Sustrans is deeply suspicious.
