I've always loved the songs made up by the soldiers in WWI. many featured in Oh What A Lovely War.

For example : to the tune of Onward Christian Nourry, sorry Soldiers - we are Joe Soap's army, marching without fear, with our brave commanders seated at the rear.

I was in our West End office today
Just had to walk down Pall Mall to restore my faith and it was heart warming to see it in all its pomp.
