| English people promoting Welsh " Regime change" again. 15:27 - Oct 22 with 10572 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Wales has been a pseudo nation for 300 years and resisting absorption by English for 1300 years. We have had our own Parliament for 26 years. Welsh economic performance has had a tough job since Reform sponsored Brexit. Nevertheless Wales has always balanced the books and maintained social services. Can do better of course. Reform has come to Wales waving Welsh flags but their hardline supporter support Abolishing the Senedd. The ex Tory Laura Jones let the cat out tof the bag and the ex SFC chairman Rupert Lowe said the same Wales is a peaceful place but I get a bit nervous about outsider like him promoting changes to our Parliament. It is a really. "Regime change". It the big bad world that is a toxic subject. English actors have a great expertise in this sort of thing. Beware unintended consequences. [Post edited 22 Oct 15:30]

| English people promoting Welsh " Regime change" again. on 19:25 - Oct 23 by Dr_Winston | There are 32 MP's representing Welsh constituencies. That's not quite the same thing. All of them will have several people vying to be elected to those rather than to the Senedd. There have in the relatively recent past been Welsh MP's representing constituencies elsewhere. The bottom line is that the best always have and will continue to try to get into the National Parliament first. Having said that, the Senedd's biggest problem is one that is beginning to be amplified at UK level. Namely the fact that the money is far too low to attract the best candidates. Someone with the talent required to run a country can easily earn significantly more working in the private sector without the hassle and scrutiny of being an elected representative. Now, the best way around this is to increase the wages but reduce the numbers. Cardiff Bay wants to just increase the numbers, so there will be even more incompetent people getting involved. We'll just end up with loads more Drakefords. The other major problem Wales has is that people keep voting the same parties into power. Labour have failed on every level since 1999, often aided and abetted by Plaid. Labour have continued to be voted in, and now face being replaced by Plaid. I'm no lover of Reform, but at the very least they represent a disruption to the Status Quo. If political parties are secure in power, they have no incentive to deliver for anyone other than themselves. [Post edited 23 Oct 19:42]

By your reasoning the HoC is a truly great place filled with the best of the best. It is just not true. Many are just god networkers and in Labours case friendly with the Unions. The Senedd has managed to balance the books pretty well. Opponents have focussed o n the side issues ok Ike the charitable Trees in Uganda and Nation of Scantuary a minuscule propose ration if the budget The gate for Drakeford is hard for me to understand. Labour has year on year balanced the budget and maintained vital services despite the Brexit disaster. Corruption if at all is tiny. Nothing like trying to recover £135m from a Tory Donor. There is no swamp to drain. Kent Cc is in shambles under Reform. This has never happened in Wales

| English people promoting Welsh " Regime change" again. on 19:48 - Oct 23 by Gwyn737 | I agree with you on pay, but if you’re suggesting that more money will attract capable candidates that that means that we do have the talent to run the Senedd? Better pay and the move to PR could be the answer 🤷🏻 |
Gwyn if I can step in. We can only judge on history not what could be done. Since the Senedd has been in place living standards in most of Wales have fallen behind the most of the UK, SE Wales has benefited at the expense of the rest of Wales. This is just not acceptable, up until now there has never been an option to remove Labour, a vote elsewhere was seen as pointless as it wouldn't have been enough. Whether you agree with the 20mph or not the petition has showed that the Welsh people can voice their discontent and win, this has been the catalyst for the current voting revolution. Yes Wales should be able to govern itself but the failings of the last 25 years have come back to bite the Senedd. We the Welsh public have been taken for granted, the Senedd have done what they want with no consideration as to what is the best for the whole of Wales. To many vanity projects have robbed the the Welsh people of the basic services they deserve. That stops today and will climax in the Senedd elections next year, yes we should be able to govern ourselves but up until now we have not shown we can.

I’m not being an apologist for Labour or the Senedd, WR. I’m not trying to make any political point. I just balk against the suggestion that Welsh people are not capable of holding power. Wanting to abolish the Senedd instead of improving it seems a bit feeble to me.

The new Welsh government next year will have the opportunity to change. If things improve dramatically, they will get another 5 years and the chance for another 5 years and so the cycle will continue. If things don't improve in the next 5 years the writing will be on the wall. The Senedd have to justify their existence up until now they haven't. I holiday extensively throughout Wales probably 8-12 weekends a year chatting with locals and universally they are not happy with the Senedd.

This is true, but don't tell me two years ago you could see Labour in Wales dropping to the 3rd political party at best in Wales. Particularly with Labour having a landside victory in the GE.

Some of these Labour supporters won't criticise them even when its more than justified, I was brought up in a Terrace house and everyone was Labour, this new Labour isn't old Labour far from it, they are clearly taking the British Taxpayers for fools by spending vast amounts of their money and giving it away they think more about looking good abroad. Starmer is like all "politicians" today being a career politician meaning their are not actually politicians just trying to climb a ladder onto the world stage {Blair is a classic example of that} in future, they can all see through him Lecornu and Trump especially, they're laughing at the clown.

Looks like the people of Wales have given their verdict. Labour managing just 11% of the vote.

Many Welsh people are anti Welsh and want to be a region of England. These people are English or gave English or Scottish heritage. You perhaps belong to the second group. They tend to be very negative people who detest their indigenous neighbours to the extent of objecting the the indigenous language being spoken in their presence. Arrogance in stilts. They vilify solid administrator s like Drakeford and they team up in disgraceful troll groups to make up new insulting nicknames for the man who is currently ensuring that the Senedd once again does not go over budget.. The Senedd is OUR HOUSE and the Anglos do not care if it does ok or not . They want to shut it down. It cost too much. Anything they dislike costs too much. Nothing costs too much in London. The CWL airport is in their hit list . It has just reported 1m passengers which is progress. It also po divided 4000 jobs in a growing field. Never mind that they want Swansea and South west Wales people to travel to Bristol. ( Owned by an Canadian Pensioner fund). It lost £4m last year. That was Andre Ayew's wages. Welsh h ave a Parliament for the fist time in 600 years. Anglo s want to shut it down because of £250k spent last year on Charity in Uganda. The Anglos want Wales to be " know your place" people not internationalists. They hate Cardiff WoL The Senedd WRU you name it. They would shut down the Welsh national football team and the Senedd in a flash if they had the chance. We are all the same and uniformity is best. It's called assimilation. It is the policy of certain government in China and Turkiye. It is a particular way of thinking. People listen to them. There are 6 or 7 of these on this forum Cymru am byth. Love Wales love the forum love Senedd love Swansea city. We can have it all. Keep our privileges. Our ancestors fought for them. Kindly for you consideration. Reform were " love bombed" in Caerfili. Zia Yousuf of Reform congratulated Lindsay Whittle. He was impressed I suspect. We have some class people in Wales. [Post edited 25 Oct 19:48]

These are my opinions. They are genuinely held and I am not a troll. I know nothing about you at all other than you dislike me. You may have worked in British steel perhaps I cannot remember. You feel the need to have a go which is OK. I like to challenge weak narratives.Welah people on one Facebook were queuing up to wish Rupert Lowe a happy birthday and agree with him we need to give up on self determination.. He should stick out of our affairs.

Posters have a go because you bring it on yourself by posting the same old rhetoric over and over. There’s another poster on here who may share similar views to you but puts them across in a respectful and intelligent manner and consequently gets the respect he deserves on this board. You are the repetitive poster with your unionist posts and flag waving. I tell people that if you want to be Unionist and wave flags and wear poppies you do not have to be anti Welsh. You can have it all . Love Wales love UK. When I post pro Cymru stuff the Union flag wavers are on my case. It is a partizan way of thinking. You call me repetitive. I call it consistent..
