Wales has been a pseudo nation for 300 years and resisting absorption by English for 1300 years.
We have had our own Parliament for 26 years. Welsh economic performance has had a tough job since Reform sponsored Brexit. Nevertheless Wales has always balanced the books and maintained social services. Can do better of course.
Reform has come to Wales waving Welsh flags but their hardline supporter support Abolishing the Senedd. The ex Tory Laura Jones let the cat out tof the bag and the ex SFC chairman Rupert Lowe said the same
Wales is a peaceful place but I get a bit nervous about outsider like him promoting changes to our Parliament.
It is a really. "Regime change". It the big bad world that is a toxic subject. English actors have a great expertise in this sort of thing.

There are 32 MP's representing Welsh constituencies. That's not quite the same thing. All of them will have several people vying to be elected to those rather than to the Senedd. There have in the relatively recent past been Welsh MP's representing constituencies elsewhere. The bottom line is that the best always have and will continue to try to get into the National Parliament first.
Having said that, the Senedd's biggest problem is one that is beginning to be amplified at UK level. Namely the fact that the money is far too low to attract the best candidates. Someone with the talent required to run a country can easily earn significantly more working in the private sector without the hassle and scrutiny of being an elected representative.
Now, the best way around this is to increase the wages but reduce the numbers. Cardiff Bay wants to just increase the numbers, so there will be even more incompetent people getting involved. We'll just end up with loads more Drakefords.
The other major problem Wales has is that people keep voting the same parties into power. Labour have failed on every level since 1999, often aided and abetted by Plaid. Labour have continued to be voted in, and now face being replaced by Plaid. I'm no lover of Reform, but at the very least they represent a disruption to the Status Quo.
If political parties are secure in power, they have no incentive to deliver for anyone other than themselves. [Post edited 23 Oct 19:42]

By your reasoning the HoC is a truly great place filled with the best of the best. It is just not true. Many are just god networkers and in Labours case friendly with the Unions.
The Senedd has managed to balance the books pretty well. Opponents have focussed o n the side issues ok Ike the charitable Trees in Uganda and Nation of Scantuary a minuscule propose ration if the budget
The gate for Drakeford is hard for me to understand. Labour has year on year balanced the budget and maintained vital services despite the Brexit disaster. Corruption if at all is tiny. Nothing like trying to recover £135m from a Tory Donor. There is no swamp to drain.

Gwyn if I can step in. We can only judge on history not what could be done. Since the Senedd has been in place living standards in most of Wales have fallen behind the most of the UK, SE Wales has benefited at the expense of the rest of Wales. This is just not acceptable, up until now there has never been an option to remove Labour, a vote elsewhere was seen as pointless as it wouldn't have been enough. Whether you agree with the 20mph or not the petition has showed that the Welsh people can voice their discontent and win, this has been the catalyst for the current voting revolution. Yes Wales should be able to govern itself but the failings of the last 25 years have come back to bite the Senedd. We the Welsh public have been taken for granted, the Senedd have done what they want with no consideration as to what is the best for the whole of Wales. To many vanity projects have robbed the the Welsh people of the basic services they deserve. That stops today and will climax in the Senedd elections next year, yes we should be able to govern ourselves but up until now we have not shown we can. |  | | |

Many Welsh people are anti Welsh and want to be a region of England. These people are English or gave English or Scottish heritage. You perhaps belong to the second group.
They tend to be very negative people who detest their indigenous neighbours to the extent of objecting the the indigenous language being spoken in their presence. Arrogance in stilts.
They vilify solid administrator s like Drakeford and they team up in disgraceful troll groups to make up new insulting nicknames for the man who is currently ensuring that the Senedd once again does not go over budget..
The Senedd is OUR HOUSE and the Anglos do not care if it does ok or not . They want to shut it down. It cost too much. Anything they dislike costs too much. Nothing costs too much in London.
