People shouldn’t forget representation by the players too. Sheehan is very well liked, and the majority of players wouldn’t be happy I’m told if he left. We saw it work against Luke Williams I think on this occasion it would work the opposite way.

There’s no way in any initial thoughts on sacking him that at least a few senior players wouldn’t be consulted. Not necessarily on sacking him but to gauge their feelings on where they think this is all going and their supoort for him.

At last year's awards dinner, we were told by a member of the Swans staff that he wasn't that well liked and they were amazed that he had been given the job. I guess it all depends who you talk to.

I’d hope and assume so. They’d have known this was at least a possibility for quite a while.

Luckily, I think they are for more invested and competent than Jason Levien and co ever were and we won’t see a repeat of the embarrassment between sacking Duff and appointing Williams.
