In fairness he admits himself that he didn’t put the work in in training until he came to us. Also I think we didn’t have such a rigid playing style as some other teams so he was allowed free rein more: that and the fact he was our best player by far so we could afford to build the team around him. |  | | |

I rather liked how Barney Ronay in the Guardian wrote it up:

My memory is not what it was, but, against Manchester United, didn't Sir Les score one a bit like that, after neatly stepping round Paul Ince?
