Likewise, I have never been there, and would love to. The Grand National actually always seems to take place when Saints are at home so have to turn the radio off until.we get home. We just choose a horse each as a kind of tradition each year. I also like snooker and would love to go to the crucible and never have. | |

I can imagine it is quite decieving and looks huge when you're there. Once put a £1 on both ways for a horse that I think was 150 to 1 and won £150! It was one of the biggest surprises. In horse racing, you get a lot of surprise wins at times. | |

2017 National was great for us
West Brom Away - won 1-0 thanks to a Jordt Clasie 20 yarder
Straight back to the Vine to watch the National
Was on the winner One For Arthur at about 16/1
Was also each way on Saint Are (obviously) which was placed at around 28/1
My daughter picked Blak Lion which was also placed at around 8 or 10/1

Marble Sands for me, at double carpet 66/1. Only grey horse will be easy to spot, not the quickest beast but a proven stayer should get round hope i'll get some thrills for my £1 each way. |  | | |

Grand National is the only time I have a wager on the gee gees.
I don't study the form book, just base my bets on The Horses name (any SFC or Music theme) and or colours (SFC) the jockey is wearing, which are just as likely to get into an each way pay out, in this lottery of a race!
My choices, all on £2 eachway bets are
I Am Maximus (Life of Brian)
Grangeclare West (Reversed Sash Shirt)
Jordans ( Joe and Yellow&Blue)
Final Orders (Yellow & Blue)

The Grand National is becoming as predictable as the big races at Cheltenham: Willie Mullins' horses win all of them. I see someone had a £100,000 bet on I Am Maximus at 8/1.£800,000 profit. |  |

Yes that was J P McManus the owner of the winner that put on 100k at 8/1 to win 800k.
He had 6 runners in the race & had 3 in the first 4.
Just think if he had put 100k on each of his 6 runners he would have still made a profit of 200k.
I personally think its all wrong that one owner is allowed to have so many runners in any race.
There are lots of other owners that would desperately like to have a runner in the National & he is depriving them of that opportunity. | | | |

No they are not the best horses, it’s a handicap, the best horses run at Cheltenham a month earlier | |
