Happy with that draw, new ground for me, easy enough to get to and can stop off in chelmsford for a decent beer after the game.
Only downside is the ground is nowhere near anything so will be a case of drinking in town and getting a cab in, and one of my mates who lives there checked and said there's only 8 cabs for the whole of colchester | | | |

I went there last time and I think they run shuttle buses from the station to the ground, Colchester is a big place, I can't believe there are only 8 cabs in the entire town | |

In contrast, Saints away to Colchester is one of the longest journeys for away fans in the draw (320 mile round trip)

Its not that far its only 134 miles via the M25, so a mere 168 miles, not quite the longest trip in the Southern draw but only a few miles in it.

I would second this. I live near Chelmsford, and there are a good selection of pubs in and around station, the Plough, and Ship with a good selection of beers, plus Micro Brewery opposite station under the arches for those who like their ales. Very easy to hop off and back on train.
I went to Layer Road many years ago (2006), and there was nothing around there either. The new ground whilst a big upgrade on Layer Road it is deceiving,(10,000 ish) it looks bigger than it actually is.
I will get train to Colchester North and get bus. NB - there are 2 Colchester stations - Colchester(also known as Colchester North) and Colchester Town. [Post edited 26 Jun 9:38]
