I think we’re in the range of XG where it’s all a bit useless. Short term game by game useful to see who created better chances etc. Full season, useful to see how a team performed compared to how they should have performed against a statistical average (see Walsh xg prevented etc). But 6/7 games? Thats basically a run of form where you can run hot or cold for a bit (see Charlton / Cardiff). Not sure it means much yet. As for PNE, you either regress (/improve) to the mean and results match performances or they get worse as confidence drains. Again, not that useful yet imo. |  |
