People stating this lot should be relegated have to think about whatever league they go in to they will have an advantage over the rest. And will take a promotion place from a fairly run side in the same league.

Just take thirty points off them every season for a specified time and let them stay where they are.i would include no European entry for any cup they win.

From what I can see, whatever punishment is meted out it’s going to affect another club(s) adversely. Unless it’s just a fine and that would be taking the proverbial.

They should be sent to the National League and have a promotion ban for x seasons, a transfer embargo and only spend what they are allowed to which should be reduced drastically from what it is now.

It won’t be anything like that of course but demoting them to the Championship and allowing them to carry on as business as usual will be bad for one club next season as they’re going to come back up straight away.

It won’t T
I can see them winning the appeal
And sueing the PL
This could be catastrophic for football
City are utterly shameless
You think their fans would keep a low profile

Nothing less that a four league relegation and five year transfer ban

Haarland turned up today then gloated
Warwick hunt

Gary Neville was at his irritating best today.

Every time City scored we had to listen to " a great finish, but does it mean anything?"

We all know what's going on.

That's exactly what I said to my mates. Give them a meaningful amount of points deduction for the next 5 seasons. Ban them from the FA cup and League cup for the amount of times they won those trophies during the years involved with the charges.

I posted this a couple of weeks ago and still think this would work.

Relegate them straight to League Two at the end of the season, plus give them a 20 point deduction every season for the next 5 seasons, plus they have to abide by the financial rules of the league they are in. Normal relegation from all leagues this season, but one extra automatic promotion place from each league for next season only.

Agree Keith - start each season for the next 10 years on -30 pts (plus deduction of 30 this season) to match period that they cheated for. If their better players leave & the -30 start relegates them so be it (they’d need to pick up between 66 - 70 points each season to stay up).

Additional punishment of no European football for next 10 seasons regardless of position or cup win losing finalist or next team below in the league takes their spot.

Suspect they’d get a fine too but personally I’d stick with the above.

Anfield today on 07:42 - Oct 12 with 678 viewsDr_Winston

The other issue that the league faces is that the cheating is in all likelihood still ongoing. Don't have the exact figures to hand but apparently they were one of the few clubs whose commercial income allegedly increased during Covid, which is well after the period currently in question.

A relegation to the Championship just isn't going to cut it. They have to be stripped of every trophy won in that period and be broken down as a club back to the position they were in prior to the takeover. If that means a relegation to non-league then so be it. Their owners also need to be forced to sell up as they're clearly not fit and proper individuals.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

But with an extra promotional place you’d also need an extra demotion place which would punish the the teams that have scrapped all season to just survive in that particular division..

How did the Scottish FA deal with Rangers? I’m sure there’s a precedent that could be emulated

An extra promotion place would be available in the Premier League because of Man City dropping down to the 4th tier. With every division having an extra promoted team to fill the gap left by the Man City knock on nobody extra would need to be demoted.

Three relegated from the Premier League plus Man City to League Two, 4 available places.
4 promoted from the Championship, 3 relegated as normal, means 4 spaces available.
4 promoted from League One, means 4 spaces available so 4 promoted from League Two. Relegation from league two stays the same as Man City take up the space.

Or does that not work?

The two play off semi finalist winners promoted in all affected divisions? Semi's held at Wembley.

Symmetry is beautiful as I look over Glyneath from my wooden cabin. Monday mornings are great up here.

A beautiful smiling symmetrical face and the pine tree.

Simple 15 years of transfer cheating 15 year transfer ban. All player currently on the payroll and no new signings until 2041.

Symmetry is part of the physical nature of the is planet. When things are symmetrical the case will smell of justice done in line with natural order.

I don't think they will just be relegated to the Championship and fined. There has to be a way to incorporate severe punishment without destabilising the entire league. I think there needs to be a punishment that hits them for at least 5 years.

Posterx ars suggesting forced relegation and a fine would be sufficient. This is not equitable. Cheat for 15 seasons and get one season lost. One could argue Southampton took that penalty for one foolish spying case which probably had no effect. Southampton were favourites.

No the penalty must be long term. A transfer van for at least a decade ideally 15 years. This means the UK can still win the Champions league but must develop their own stars from within their academy. . A 15 year old today with be ths 30 year old player when the ban ends. I am sure they have the talent . Chelsea ars already handing out. 8 year deals.

This has a long way to run on the European side. The points City picked up for the Premier League through the European Clubs Coefficients system. Means that other leagues had less representatives than possibly they could have. They will want their pound of flesh.
