Ernie played as a winger for Rangers in the 50s.
A friend of mine, now in his 80s with some serious health problems, grew up in Willesden and supported the Rs in his youth. He has told me about the time he saw Tony Ingham on the bus smoking a fag. Times are different! He was a big fan of Ernie Shepherd.
Dennis, my friend, still feels connected to QPR although he hasn't been to a game for many years. He is coming to the Sheffield United match on the 28th November.
This is a long shot but I wondered if anyone had some memorabilia of the Rs in the 50s and possibly even of Ernie. I'd love to be able to give Dennis a memento of those days.
I'd be happy to buy something if any Rs fans from that time have memorabilia.
Many thanks in advance.

What a nice touch by you and hopefully, young Dennis has a great day.
Always worth contacting the club to see if they can do a little something. They're usually good for things like this.

I think I may have some duplicate QPR handbooks from that era.
I'm away at the moment but will have a look next week and if so will contact you via dm.

Many thanks for these responses. The photo on eBay looks great.
Does anyone have contact details for Chris Guy?
And if Cheshire can spare a handbook that would be lovely.
Thanks again. | | | |

I sit very near him so I can try and have a word. He can also be found on the RetroQPR site on FB.
