Incredibly sad news breaking in Spain - Tenerife player Jesus de Miguel has passed away after an on-pitch collision with an opposition goalkeeper a few days ago.

Funny how some folk get more offended by a poor joke than the incident itself, particularly those who haven't even watched it.

The goalkeeper made the challenge in the centre circle. What on earth is he doing there in the first place? The challenge itself is extremely reckless and that's putting it lightly. It wouldn't look out of place in the octagon. I would not be surprised if he faces manslaughter charges.

Its a tragic incident.

The goalkeeper is getting multiple death threats and can imafine he feels absolutely horrendous about it as he has put out in a statement.

A man has lost his life during a game.

Pretty horrific. End of.
