Adel's still knocking some smart balls but half of them are shonky I agree. Trying too hard.
Mackie's being wasted deeper and Cisse on his own isn't ever going to hang on to the ball, he'll be blasting it from wherever.
Mbia / Diakite axis is a positive, looks solid enough.
Generally we look a lot more composed although the longer this goes on the nerves will start to fray again.
Nagging feeling that while improvement is good Sunderland are so poor that anything but a win is still points dropped. |  | | |

Admittedly only seen the last 20 minutes but not the game I'm seeing, I'm seeing strong shape, a really good chance wasted by Mackie and both teams guilty of conceding possession.
Dont get the criticism of Adel, again the best player on the pitch by a mile and the one most likely to unlock the door. If he did it every time we would win the game 20-0 but that would be stupid, and so is some peoples expectations |
Yeah maybe you're right - I admit that because I know what he can do my expectations are high!
He is at the centre of everything and as I said before, he is not hiding and that is great. But I just wish he's speed it up!
Mackie should have hit that chance first time but not a terrible miss.
We already look a different team attitude wise, I just hope we can get the first goal as I think we will win easily then. But if we concede first I fear for us! |  | | |

Agreed, if we score, I think Sunderland look like they might roll over........ the same might well be said of us I suppose.

I think we are doing ok so far. Started off very committed.
Adel's seems to be getting a hard time but I think he is playing well, Cisse needs to learn to pass instead of shoot but the game is there for us if we want it and find our shooting boots. |  |

I'm not going to type a word about the defence because it's too easy to jinx things.
I can see the wisdom of having Diakite at the head of the diamond, driving forward, but WHEN he picks up his yellow I'd like to try Park there.
Adel's doing quite a bit better than Saturday in terms of releasing the ball, and I hope our Spaniard was watching the move that led to Mackie's show because it was like a bull fighter shruging off 3 bulls. Total class.
Just need to be a bit more knitted together between the attack and midfield.
