Bit Marmite isn't he.

I thought he was excellent myself and a real threat in the box with excellent movement, pressed well and some decent hold up play. Reading through the board others thought he was toilet.

FFP 2024
at 09:03 17 Jan 2024

We are starting to see accounts being published, I saw 2 this morning on Twitter from Kieran Maguire

Luton £21m operating loss Revenue 18.4m wages 27.6m - How on earth they would have made the 3 year cycle is anyones guess

Preston Operating loss £15m (£20m last year) Wages £21.5m against revenue of £15.5m

I have to say I dont really understand how these clubs are not breaching or will not breach this year or if not now next year.

These are supposed to be 2 of the well run ones

Pull the trigger
at 17:15 5 Aug 2023

I'm sorry it has to end like this, I know they love the club, know the club etc... I know we dont have a pot to piss in and limited resources. But we need an experienced championship manager who can tactically set up a team will play to what little strengths we have, will play a style of football that players want to come or stay here for. They need good connections can pick up some loans or frees in what is now a 4 week window.

Safety is the target.

This is not or will ever work in 2023 in the Championship. I dont care if they don't know the club love the club or played their entire career for Chelsea they need to be competent. And if we go down they need to know they will get the opportunity to rebuild a "football team"

Kakay and Dickie
at 18:47 11 Mar 2023

Been at fault a lot in recent games for goals against but they both had really great games today. Ozzy's best game for the club IMHO and Dickie despite a poor back pass and one or two moments had his best game of the season. No surprise the switch to 3 at the back made a difference.

The team to a man did their jobs you could see how well we were organised and whilst we had some moments where we tired and I thought Albert was the wrong sub can't really fault anyone a superb effort all around.

Plus special shout out Aaron Drewe who had great game and showed some really fantastic reading of the game. Considering who they were up against quality wise they should all be very proud

Going off the WhoScored Season ratings to date

Our Best 11 is 3-4-2-1 :

Dieng

Balogun
Dunne
Clarke Salter

Laird
Johansen
Field
Paal

Willock
Chair

Dykes

Subs:
Archer
Martin
Roberts
Dickie
Iroegbunam
Lowe
Amos

So we have 7 of our best 11 out
Plus two of the 7 back ups

Dozzell, Kakay and Adomah are 19th 21st and 23rd in terms of performance stats and have been regulars over the last few weeks / months

Of the loanees only Laird makes the first 11 with

Roberts 12th, Iroegbunam 15th, Lowe 16th Richards 20th

The top 5 performers are Chair, Blaogun, Clarke Salter, Paal and Field in that order.

Ok appreciate it does not tell us much we dont already know other than injuries are killing us, The loans are underperforming and not bringing enough to the party, Albert is done, Kakay and Dozzell are not up to standard the four perm signings we made are in the first 11 perm wise (Martin only benched because Dieng is 14th) and would make a difference if we could get them fit and playing

Keeping things in perspective
at 00:13 8 Oct 2022

... well at least trying to given its early days still but fluck it I'm going to say it.

Man for man this is a better squad than the 2011 promotion team under Warnock. That was a team that was pulled up by an exceptional player some really good ones and a wily manager. This squad has a better keeper, a better squad of defenders and full backs, midfield options to die for, exceptional skill all over the park, a good workman number 9 and a potential superstar kid number 9 in the wings whose still got his training wheels attached

And I think we probably have the best "young coach" in the country the Venables of his era

Yes its all potential but its bloody hard not to get excited

jesus what happened to him, it was like watching his never kicked a ball before geography teaching twin brother last night, after 10 minutes the team were too scared to pass to him, not only did he give it away with most touches he kept putting them in 4 v 3
