Saw some stories on this fella, currently at Palermo, linked with us. It seems so random as to be possibly true - most press would be hooking us up with something closer to home to sell stories. Seems happy at Palermo but still could be his agent i guess.

Poll: What's our back 4 for Wembley?

Good player on his day... Unfortunately, that day came and went pretty quickly.

Don't think he's suitable for the premiership having seen him drag himself about for NI a brave few times.

Big player at 6 foot 4 and certainly in the Bobby mould. Won't score loads but will put himself about in similar fashion. At 26 about the right age and probably affordable. To be honest I think Matt Smith at Leeds is a better option at 24 and 9 foot tall. We could get him for 500K. Watched him for a lot of his career and he's someone that would thrive around Austin. Amazing in the air as well.

Never knowingly right.

Used to be at Burnley. Could do a lot worse. 1 in 3 in Italy isn't bad.

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Big money signing for Rangers from Burnley (£4m + i believe?) and tbh jhe never set the heather alight up here, occasional good game but flattered to deceive often, wouldn't have earmarked him as a potential Premier player but has maybe matured and learnt a better game in Italy?
I'm sure the NI supporters on here like Nathan will have a better idea on his recent form

He seems like a player who is prematurely on the downslope of his career.

I know there have been were a handful of character criticisms of him in the couple of years before he went to Italy.

For the Championship I'd have been fairly interested but for the Premier League I'd say no.

Yes, but he can time travel so plenty of money to be made on the betting front.

Never knowingly right.

Got to remember whoever signs will be a bench player. Charlie will be the number 1 striker. So can Lafferty come off the bench with 25 mins to go and do a job like Zamora? 6'4 but is he good in the air?

useful in the championship i would say but seems to have gone backwards since going to Scotland.
last time I saw him play at Windsor Park for N.I. he spent most of the game offside.
Tends to launch himself into wreckless tackles at critical times.

a plus being he can score spectacular goals.but maybe not enough.

Seems to me he hasn't exactly shone at higher levels of football. A decent forward at this level will cost abit of dosh, if we are going to buy lets buy right and not bloat the squad with a player who has already proven he's not up to it.

Austin will only be number one if he scores. If he doesn't we need someone else who will. Austin may only get one chance per game

Squad player if he signs. We need 3 new strikers - Doyle, Lafferty and Hooper would suit me.

None of them are good enough.
I hope they don't give Doyle a contract, he is awful.

Spend millions, get into more debt and still go back down?

We should be shopping at Aldi, not Harrods this season.

But likewise you don't do your shopping at the local tip either.
