Now do I spunk another tenner and put myself in a bad mood in the process or watch Love Island Australia with the various female members of my household instead. Good grief what a choice. | | | |
| Poor Culture on 04:02 - Jul 15 with 394 views | superhoopdownunder | The reason I think we are finishing seasons poorly is we have a poor culture at the club. We accept being rubbish or ordinary way too easily. Standards need to be much higher (and are at successful sporting clubs). Obviously high turnover of players every season does not help. This year we obviously have a few of our best players looking for a transfer so that has not helped either. What is our goal? It seems to be just avoiding relegation every season. Do we want to achieve something more meaningful - top half finish, then perhaps playoffs and then promotion? There just seems to be an acceptance to be mediocre - to finish 16th. This generally comes from the top - maybe our owners are not that interested in the club being successful on the pitch? They have blown a lot of money on rubbish, has beens and never weres. What about our CEO? - Lee seems happy just to keep cutting costs (and has done a great job of this). What about our DOF? - I'm not sure what Les' goals are apart from he has mentioned developing players - who have started to come through in recent times. Developing a winning culture could give us something more meaningful to aspire to and not have these seasons peter out after 37 games each season. U R's | | | |
