...of a bygone era. Although I did stand on the terraces at Leeds Road, I didn't realise just how many of the fans walked to the other end at half time. Even their 'singers' made the trip. And er...older fans may recognize a certain character in the second fixture.
Thanks for posting this, Boston. A time when the main man, John Motson went down to the third tier of the football league to commentate a featured game on the nations top football programme.
Yes, it was 40 years ago, and times change, but compare that to nowadays when there is nothing on terrestrial TV outside the Big Cash League and even that HAS to put one of the top six as the main match, even when the game is uneventful compared to games involving the non-top 6.
I know most of it is nostalgia, but this is a much better way for the good of football, surely?

...and that they never put final score on first game of the season, because the premier league teams aren't playing.

There is a sort of irony that the BBC are doing a sort of celebration of the creation of the Premier league starting next week when Sky left them behind hoovering up all the football.
Despite the Covid hardship caused to many clubs there is no stopping the intended breakaway clubs home and abroad spending even more obscene amounts of money in this transfer window.
