Probably the best ‘B’ team we’ll face this season.

So we played our U23s plus Amos, who would have been allowed to play anyway, and called them the B team. So they now have 2 managers and different coaches for the same players. Seems a bit daft to me.

I don’t disagree but let’s give it time, we can’t really judge after 1 game and to be fair the club are doing it for the right reasons.

B Games. on 07:05 - Sep 16 with 1455 views | dmm | Yes, I thought the B team would be a mix between the 23s and the seniors. Players like Dozzell, Dunne and Thomas, who all played in a U23 match a couple of weeks ago, could have got some useful game time.

Isnt the point that they're potentially playing against better opposition, and we can play our fringe players? Atm with Amos just coming back, and Field injured, and Bettache out on loan, our midfield are all playing if they're fit. But if they were all fit, some might not get much game time. I think we're investing more in the coaching team, and that's surely a good thing to get players into the first team. You just need to get one player into the first team from the youth/B team and you've probably saved yourself £1 million pounds at least and possibly earned yourself a transfer fee going forward.

Those guys will probably feature V Everton and are on the bench so guess that on this occasion they were being kept back for Tuesday On the other hand 2 games over 7 days is par for the course

B Games. on 10:20 - Sep 16 with 1292 views | 1JD | A few thoughts from last night. Good performances; Amos - best player for us by some distance. Fit, hungry, fast, snapping into tackles and excellent on the ball. Armstrong - wide right to start with and getting none of the ball, but when shifted up top, pace and power caused problems- unlucky with a couple of chances created from his own work. Kefalas - tall, strong and composed on the ball, always looking to pass out from the back both long and short. First time I’ve seen him and was impressed. Quieter performances Gubbins - didn’t have an awful lot to do and didn’t get on the ball as much as normal. Mema - in and out of the game, but mostly out of the game- but some nice touches as per usual. Not so good performances Drewe and Domi - full backs looked weak links. Duke-Mckenna - I counted 7-8 fouls in the game, including the penalty. Great hunger, but always late. On the ball reminded me a bit of Josh Scowen in that every second touch was increasingly a tackle! Needs to keep it simple. Off the ball - timing of tackles needs to be better so as to not keep giving needless free kicks away. Work to do. Brentford were pressing us all over the pitch from the first whistle… the tempo was very high and intense which might have been a bit of a shock to the likes of our CMs and FBs especially. Amos was the only one who not only lived with it, but excelled. As a result, it was pressurising their first touch, and forcing speed of decision-making - both of which fell short for some players. A good workout and we were by no means far off Brentford despite the 3-1 score. We had many chances and the game was even in stages. Brentford though were more clinical and had more quality in CM and full backs which was the overall difference for me.
