I was thinking about signings the other day and came to a similar conclusion. I might want a *different* striker, or another wing back, but we're well covered in both areas (in theory). Cook and maybe a loan could happen I guess. If Cook's coming because Dickie is about to go, that would free funds I suppose for maybe one or two more? |  |

A "different" striker? They seemingly don't much like Wells from the Interview. How about Wells on loan for the rest of the season?

Great preview Clive - it has been one hell of a year. If we can replicate anything close to the second half of last season, we will be comfortable play-off contenders at least. Clive's preview great as always, puts everything into perspective.
Tricky speedy wingers do cause us and most teams problems as Albert has shown on occasions however many teams envy Illy & Willy so we have them in our looker.
Not feeling overly confident about today but then that's in my DNA for away games.
If our players can perform then we are a match for any team.

Like every other club, we have our share of mouth breathers who insist on going for that striker who will guarantee 20+ goals perseason and ensure we get promoted into the PL gravy train.
I wouldn't trust them to run a bath let alone a multi million turnover football club. A salutary reminder that we are already reliant on owners putting in £1m per month.
Other than Cook, whose wages would stretch the budget to the limit, I cannot see how anybody could justify any permanant incomings.
But for 2 hours tonight we can argue about a game of football instead of questionable financing. |  |
