Thanks Metallica. The walk stopped just short of the Blue Anchor at Hammersmith Bridge, a much liked pub my mates and I will meet up at before matches in the summer.

I prefer the Anchor to the Rutland too. It goes back to about '97 when the Rutland was ruined after the white wash re-fit and they got rid of all the old stuff.
The Anchor's re-fit wasn't too bad.

Interesting stuff. A few things he may have mentioned as he neared Hammersmith bridge - the statue of Capability Brown near the excellent Blue Boat pub, and some scenes for the film The Man Who Never Was were shot around there.
