Have we had a thread on Cook yet, don't think so?

I've been fairly critical of him this season - or at least, increasingly convinced that he's a spent force. But I thought he was superb yesterday, solid, a reassuring presence, just what you'd want from him, and he played the full 120 whilst younger men were collapsing all around him .

Felt like the sort of game where you learn about individuals. Kolli, Smyth, Dunne, Hayden, all rose to the occasion imo, and Cook showed that as an experienced pro he's still a valuable presence in these kinds of games. Fair play.

Edit. Chaotic grammar

I agree he was a rock yesterday and will give us a solid 3 centerhalves for the rest of the season. (Fingers crossed). Although I would like to see us bleeding one or two from the reserves towards the end of the season if/when we are sat 16th with 5 to play.

Technology advances, unfortunately humans do not.

Good OP.

I agree, thought he really stepped up and led by example. A hell of a lot of character shown yesterday and JS was rightfully proud. I think it unlikely we will challenge the right end of the table this year but it does feel like he's building a good attitude in this team. Injuries in the last few days/weeks is the main reason I feel we won't challenge.
