He’s everything that Vale isn’t. Touch, vision, movement and game smarts.

Bang on. And also wants to always try and effect the game.

In spite of such limited game time, he now has 2 goals and 3 assists to his name. Yet doubtless, some will still reference his perceived "failings" and question whether he should be starting when fully fit.

The evidence in favour is pretty overwhelming, as far as I'm concerned.

2 come-back appearances and 2 assists.
Needs to start after the break.
Simples.

8th without JCS, Madsen & Burrell, Chair just coming back 4th best defence in the league, only 7 clubs scoring more, creating loads of chances (could do with more on target) I’d have had your hand off in August for that.

Happy Days

Agree with you, Paddy.
He changed the game when he came on, in my opinion.
Passing in front of players, urging them on, feints, dropped shoulders, changed angles.
His role in the goal was the fourth or fifth time he worried their backs and prompted our forwards.

He was suberb . Such a beautiful footballer when fit.
Like a new signing . Just stay fit .
Word for Kamara as well . Just think he’s class.

He is rather good, isn't he? He just makes things happen.

Have to say my recent mood regarding Rangers was a bit “please - not again” er again. Fantastic to hear Chair played well today. The international break (boring) has come at the right time (glossary) because Kamara can have a rest and all our other geniuses can get closer to fitness.

Nice!

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

...but he holds on to it too long.
...we are a better team without him.

As I say, some of you do not deserve a player like Chair. Even when he's "off it" he is still our best player...

Can we go out yet?

Not long ago that we were reading how he'd struggle to get back in ahead of Dembele, Saito, Vale and Poku.

Safe to say that none of them have made a claim while he's been out injured. Let's hope he's fully fit again and will continue to add to the team. Fully fit he's a definite starter.

Absence just makes people forget how good he is.

If he can just stay fit the opportunity to see him in a team with better players like Kamara and Madsen...

He was very rusty on Tuesday, but we needed to get those minutes into him.

Reaped the rewards today.. delighted with his impact. What a pass for the goal

If only he'd got his head up and released the ball to Kamara early we would have won that.

It was, and he certainly didn't hang onto it too long that time!

The way he manages the ball is so important to the way we play now. A fit and firing Illy is a joy to watch.

Thought his corners weren’t as useless as normal: think only one found the first defender.

Not his biggest fan but was excellent yesterday: increased the energy and forward momentum just when we needed it and looked a lot closer to his best version. If match fit he should be a definite starter over Vale.

The size of the Lincoln defenders and also there team in all would make it difficult to score from a corner against them. Don’t think I have ever seen such a team of giants. Great to aee Illy back though, just needs to lower his sights a smidgen for those curlers from outside the box.
