Are Spain now one of the Greatest Teams in History? 14:21 - Jul 2 with 767 views | DylanP | I have a hard time seeing it myself. They are so boring to watch that I have a difficult time seeing them as truely "Great" team. However, they won a World cup and two European cups on the trot. That has never been done before for the simple reason that it is crazy hard to do. Ugh. Spain are to great football what the "Gap" shop is to great clothing. Utter mediocrity perfected to such a high level that they can't be beat.

Are Spain now one of the Greatest Teams in History? on 14:28 - Jul 2 with 546 views | WestbourneR | I find the anti Spain thing really weird. Yes they are the greatest team of all time and they've proved it, again. Iniesta is one of the five greatest players of all time. Xavi is close to him. They are absolutely brilliant and deserve their success and deserve the proper recognition.

Are Spain now one of the Greatest Teams in History? on 14:38 - Jul 2 with 517 views | adhoc_qpr | The problem with Spain is they do utterly dominate games, which become boring to watch except as a technical demonstration. Much of the excitement in football comes from unpredictability and close games where the lead or momentum switches throughout the 90 minutes, with lots of goals, penalties and red cards etc. Spain just dominate the ball, scoring the odd goal or two and rarely giving their opponents the posession to cause them any problems. They only scored for than 2 goals agaisnt the Irish (arguably the worst team ever to qualify for the Euros) and Italy once they were down to 10 men and completely deflated. For all the praise Spain have had, Italy should have won the first group game, and both Croatia and Portugal came very close to putting them out.
Are Spain now one of the Greatest Teams in History? on 14:46 - Jul 2 with 507 views | BazWoT | "boring to watch" the populist catchphrase to knock the best football team there has ever been! A phrase based solely on envy and a lack of imagination.

Are Spain now one of the Greatest Teams in History? on 14:48 - Jul 2 with 500 views | Clive_Anderson | If Spain get an early goal then they completely take teams apart. Other than that they tend to win games 1-0 or on as often on penalties after a 0-0. If they had lost to Portugal on penalties we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Are Spain now one of the Greatest Teams in History? on 14:50 - Jul 2 with 495 views | Lewes_r | Definately the best of all time if only based on the fact that not only are they impossible to beat in a serious match you cant even score against them.... this has been the case for 4 years now.. at somepoint you have to admit there has never been a team so difficult to beat [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Are Spain now one of the Greatest Teams in History? on 15:13 - Jul 2 with 455 views | Monahoop | Their recent track record proves they are now the best. There is no argument to it. Admittedly they can't always play their trademark style of football all the time as we have seen on occasions at Euro 2012, but there again the previous worlds best Brazil were atrocious and a joy to watch in equal measure. Spain are at the pinnacle of their standing in world football and to call them boring or mediocre is plain daft. They will of course have their detractors. Let's here it from them. Who do they prefer or what style of play would they prefer to watch? If anyone says the England style then they need medical treatment or a long holiday from watching football.

Indeed, Spain are very dull. It's not football if you're not looking to knock it down the wing and get it into the big man. And those Xavi and Iniesta fellas, what sort of central midfield is that? Not a bone-crunching box-to-box terrier midfield man to be seen ( a la Scotty Parker). And passing it out from the back, "when in doubt kick it out" is what I was told. Fcking dull they are, someone needs to teach them what football is really about.

At one point they won possession by their own corner flag and passed 6 or 7 times amongst the defence all one touch until they had the space and option to play the ball forward and start an attack. Rubbish

Didn't that Milan team thrash Barca 4-0 in the European Cup Final? How things have turned around from Italy 4 Spain 0 back then to Spain 4 Italy 0 now.

Been fortunate to watch world football back to the sixties, without doubt one of the best teams ever, Brazil team of 1970, what a match that would be be if time travel was possible. Really boring to watch players technical skilled to a high level, a' work rate' so beloved of the 'English ' fan and the ability to score goals across the team Each to thier own when it comes to styles of football they like to watch, prefer watching players that have actually reached a high standard of technical ability and marvel at the aptitude when a game plan is stuck to and works so well. Doubt very much whether it will be taken up by many, for a start you need to know how to control the ball................puts most English players at a distinct disadvantage.

I despise the fella but you cannot question his ability. Brought up the Barcelona way and perfect for them. Can pretty much play anywhere midfield backwards. The way the game is suits him also as he wouldn't have survived when tackling was allowed and that goes for the Spanish team as a whole.

Steady on. Five greatest of all time? Even today Messi and Ronaldo are probably ahead of him. The all time greats: Cruyff, Pele, Maradonna, Puskas, Zidane, Beckenbauer - they inspired teams to glory, or near glory single-handedly.
