They didn’t show some of his best moments from the promotion season like the goals home and away against Cardiff or the pass for routeledges goal against Coventry. We were lucky to see the best of him for us,but what a career he could’ve had.He really knew how to get you off your seat when he had the ball.

That is the sadness. Having seen Rodney & Stan for years, Adel was technically better than both of them and definitely a better team player than Marsh but when your head is screwed up it is never going to end well. Maybe a half time Forever R's in the future would be a good thing. It was not quite a Joni Mitchell when he left but I doubt we'll ever see his like in a hooped shirt again.

Its not a fair comparison ..the state of the pitches and the fact that every opponent had a player Harris,Storey,Smith,Bonds Pejic..etc who were detailed to kick him to the floor as a game plan plus the refereeing and his attitude to training puts Stan streets ahead IMO ...

I was talking about actual technical ability. Do you think teams never assigned players to give Adel a hard time? and they had to be a lot craftier about it than the older hackers. Remember Robbie Savage boasting he had Adel in his pocket after a midweek home game? He didn't mention the other two players who went with him for back up every time AT got the ball. If Luca Modric thinks that AT was the most technically gifted player he has ever seen then that is good enough for me.
The grass is always greener.

Can't agree with that. Stan was consistently brilliant over a far longer period of time. Adel was excellent, but he was given a completely free licence to do what he wanted, Stan was a far better team player and could also head the ball, something Adel never did.

I re-state, I said technically.

And at a consistently higher level.

Genuine privilege to have seen them all
Very true. For a small club we've had some amazing players. Apart from the four mentioned there are so many others - Currie, Wilkins, Givens, Francis......so many.
