Let's show clips of the first three films and add additional exposition throughout to try and craft a narrative that the script can't create.

From the trailers it looks the same story as the original.
The original is mega, completely blew me away when i first saw it in the cinema. The next two films were just garbage though.
I was kinda hoping this new one went back to basics but obviously not.

Admittedly I didn't see it at the cinema but don't think it would improve it.

Spiderman No Way Home however.....................Brilliant.

I watched Spiderman last week. I thought it was worst Spidey film out of the lot.
Spiderman 2 directed by Sam Raimi with Doc Oc is the best imho.

This is exactly the problem with it. It's trying to retell a 4th story, based on the first story narrative, with the problems the 2 sequels created needing to be resolved.

The first one was amazing and you have to ask why 20+ years laterz the effects in this one don't look as great as the original. They've included the dojo agin and it feels like CGI, whereas the first one was visceral.

I thought the latest Spider-Man was brilliant too. Went with my boys, 17 and 20 and we all loved it. Quite a lot of in-jokes though, so it helps if you've seen the other films.
