Paul Smyth 18:00 - Jul 30 with 3964 views

Just back from Orient v Grimsby having seen Paul Smyth playing as a false 9 in the middle of the park. Looked decent - his touch let him down a couple of time - but was always causing problems playing up the pitch with his pace. Unlucky not to score first half and faded after an hour but looked decent. I can see the Os doing well this season - Darren Pratley ran it for them in the middle.

Not good enough for QPR/Championship and hence why he didn’t play. Perhaps, found his level, bit like Dykes at Wealdstone in the National league.

Well, he did not get in the team as managers have never trusted the young ones. Now he probably would get a chance under Beale.

Since then he's had a lot of injuries which is why we let him go., but he is a useful player if he can stay fit. Which has always been the problem .. if. I have my doubts that he can, he's always getting what we would consider small injuries like hamstring, but instead of being out for weeks, he's out for months. And it happens multiple times a season.

He's never done 25 games in one season for the same club. In 20/21 season for Charlton and Accrington Stanley, he did 35 games in total for both loans. But that was the exception.

The problem with him is he never stays fit, and always gets injured.
