Tyler Roberts, that'll learn him 11:05 - Aug 17 with 1220 viewsenfieldargh

his 2 cameo performances then much of the first half saw him make plenty of runs looking to receive passes for him to make an impact sadly tlast night much of the time the passes never materialised.

He either slowed up or gave up on the idea as much of it was in vain.

As mentioned elsewhere the worst culprit for not knitting things together appeared to be Johannson although once Dickie or Dunne get the ball they get closed down their out ball is SJ who then gives it straight back to them. Tyler has already done a couple of runs, eventually he had to take a seat in the waiting room along with Lyndon.

A but harsh I know but could this be how we drag players down to our level?

Omwards and upwards or should that be sideways

It is marginally better than the end of last season and you can see that the intent is to move the balll quicker. However, apart from lack of options, it breaks down with Johansen facing backwards or clumsy touches from Dykes, amongst other players mistakes.

Young Laird looked lively down the right early in the game and put one or two lovely balls across the box. He was, unfortunately, also having to play passes sideways as there was a lack of movement and understanding. He did, however, look a bit weak in the tackle on a few occasions. Only joined on Monday, so hopefully things that can be addressed quickly.

What is this thing about playing all free kicks around the half way line, backwards. Surely a ball into the box would be a better option, on at least some of them.?

Or take a FK down the wings, have people pull both ways, stretch the opposition and pick a free man.

Sexy Asian dwarves wanted.

I hated that free kick thing. We've supposedly got a free kick coach, and is he really encouraging them to go backwards?

It didn't work and we ended up being pressed in our own half most of the time from our own free kicks!

Dykes doesn't have the close control to trap the ball with two players around him and turn. Quite often he won the ball but there was no one near him to mop up the rebound/flick on. If he's playing on his own up front, someone needs to get near to him if the ball's player up to him, if that's Chair, Roberts, Johansen or Dozzell, someone needs to support. He's not chuffing Aguero and we can't expect him to be.
