I remember Deportivo La Coruna always being a team knocking on the door of Real and Barcelona when I was a kid....now they're in the regionalised third tier which has a convoluted play-off system to get out of.

Espanyol only got back up a couple of seasons ago, one of my local teams so I get along occasionally. Doesn't help they have a 45k seater stadium and never more than 20k fans on a good day!
Valencia being run into the ground by the same bloke who's the money man behind the Class of 92 thing (I assume he still is)
Did a long weekend triple this weekend since I was in the Basque County, Real Sociedad on Saturday, Eibar on Sunday and Alaves tonight. Been a lot of fun anyway, Alaves of course had that amazing European final all those years back v Liverpool but didn't look like a side capable of promotion to La Liga tonight |  |
