As others have pointed out, we are notoriously slow starters in the league, but if we look at our opponents for the first eight matches, its very feasible that seven of these teams could easily fill places in the bottom eight, only Middlesborough at home are tipped to perform well.

The performance and the result against Portsmouth means nothing, if we can't follow this up with equally decent performances and results. Currently, definitely we are all on a bit of a high, but lose at home to Bolton and everything returns to "this is QPR".Any long term Ranger's fan knows, we never have the ability more to be absolute dog shyte after our greatest triumphs. These eight games take us up to the first international break. We then after playing Preston on 19th September, do not have another game until the 9th October away at West Ham of all places.

Ridiculous just a month of the season gone and then we have a break of three weeks without a game. A mid season break when we have hardly played any number of games. Mad. But, I think if our players, our manager, and our fans see us perform and attain decent results , it during this time, it sets us up for the whole season ahead.

I really do think the first eight games this season are absolutely massive and will determine how we end up after 46 games. Its a massive opportunity.

Yes you are possibly correct but really we can only take it one game at a time.

You don't sprint at the start of a marathon but try to get a steady pace going and if someone overtakes you you try and sit on their shoulder.

Those West Ham and Derby games after the break are just as important. Have to keep our focus and come back strong.

that break is better than doing it after the Blackburn game which would normally happen then again 3 weeks later.

First 8 are important of course but in this league I don't think you really know if you are any good or not until Christmas, even then you can fall away after that or pick up.

Real opportunity to get points on the board early though
