| QPR pet peeves 20:50 - Nov 4 with 1514 views | Spaceman_P | Watching the game and subsequent highlights this morning. My ultimate QPR pet peeve is how we strike. 80% of all the strikes yesterday are trying too hard to be flash, even Jimmy attempted a top corner shot. Illias in every game he plays does too. Just smash the ball on target for f sakes... even blast it at their keeper if needs be... imagine breaking his face with a ball. Instead the ball always ends up in the stands. Only Ronnie when shooting understands this concept. That's my pet peeve... what's yours? | | | | |

| QPR pet peeves on 21:54 - Nov 4 with 0 views | TwoHalves | Smyth had a late volley attempt that more closely resembled a sand wedge shot in golf. The ball, back spinning viciously, flew about 30ft into the air before floating back to earth, nestling softly in the arms of the keeper. Not sure he could do it again if he tried. | | | |
| QPR pet peeves on 22:31 - Nov 4 with 0 views | nix | My pet peeve is taking that extra touch. At one point in the second half Kolli must have taken about five touches to get the ball under control or tweak it. Whatever, just pass it, dribble it anything but fart around with it and give it away. Oh and I’m going to have another one: speak to each other. Yesterday you could hear Burnley players talking, giving instructions, communicating. We’re like blooming mice. There was the ball recently (against Southampton?) where Ronnie headed it but Charles hadn’t (presumably) called for him to leave it when he could have gathered it, it ended up with one of their players and I think they scored. Also another time Kone was behind Smyth and Smyth took the header when Kone would probably have scored. Just. Tell. Him. To. Leave. It. | | | |

Are you barking? If this site moans about the legroom, WTF do you think Crouchie, my pet giraffe will make of it? And have you ever seen a giraffe take a piss? Good luck QPR's drainage system!

Yes, both of these. On your second count, we should take into account Burnley are full of 30 year olds, talking to each other still a thing then. We have a young side. I’d like to see JS fit them out in ear phones, portable keyboard and screen to improve this communication issue on the pitch. Regards the OP ‘put your laces through it’, in total agreement. However, going all Peter Lorimer, may get you in the goalscoring records list, but not a transfer to the Premier League. If you can curl a medium pacer off the outside of your foot, straight into the face of a spectator sitting behind the goal, you’re immediately worth ten mill. I noticed about a month ago, when your four on three in a breakaway, a simple cross into the mixer just doesn’t do it. Far better to unnecessarily use the outside of the wrong foot and ‘curl’ it straight into the keepers hands. Young Poku has been getting high plaudits ever since from X followers and managers alike. That boy will go far. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I hate it even if it works correctly and it goes out for a throw but we cant even do that properly, it went out for a GK on Tues! It angers me straight away every time we do it. I play a bit for my work team and genuinely put in a better corner than all of our team, maybe Madsen aside, few assists to my name...I really don't see the problem they have with it. Get it wrong once or twice but more than half the time it doesn't get off the ground properly! The one we did get right, Dunne nearly scored from!

Firstly the idea of Barbet back on the coaching staff would be a great idea. Can't believe he is still only 33 now. What a player and leader. Yes the snatching at shots thing is generally down to a lack of composure during matches. Sometimes we seem to be far more relaxed in front of goal and other times, like the other night, we seem to rush shots. Perhaps it is just nerves? Much like the extra touch also mentioned on this thread. There is sometimes a lack of confidence and a rush of blood with our finishing. That seems to happen when thinking and slightly panicking takes over from instinct. We see the training videos and they mostly hit the target so I think it's a mentality thing to panic a bit and not relaxing into the reality of just hitting the ball hard and true.

In the pre match warm up shooting practice, the players don't seem to have too much trouble hitting the target.

That's because they're not under the in game pressure at that moment.

Yes, Kone has an 0-2 record in the last two games of finding touch for a throw-in - on both occasions he has got too much curl on it with his right foot. a)taking it from right to left, so that Kone curls it towards the touchline; b)change the kicker and have Kone get in position for the press on the subsequent defensive throw-in; c)pass it back to Pierce Charles to welly it and Kone and Co charge forward; d)totally surprise the opposition by playing football along the ground, passing and moving. We only do it on the initial kick-off - if it's a great strategy, why not on every subsequent kick-off after conceding a goal?

Totally agree with you. What is the point of Chair , Dembele , Saito or Smyth coming back to defend corners? They would be far more productive occupying defenders further up the pitch, and even more dangerous as they could provide a good outlet for a breakaway goal. As for the kick off , play it back to Charles and push players forward. They did something similar against Preston but unfortunately they cleared the ball to the halfway line and Dunne had a brainfart moment.
