If you believe what you read - Konchesky and Baird coming in, solid players but nothing spectacular (not that thats a problem), probably what we need. Cant see Defoe, Townsend or Crouch joining us and now Parker has gone to Fulham (phew) are there any more old players we are being linked with?
By the way, does anyone else think Harrys old trick of naming a young bench with no experience completely backfired on Sat? He did the same last season with two keepers.
For me I would now look at bringing in a LM and another forward.

I thought Parker would have done a job but the lure of the Prem is something we can't odds at the moment without going silly on money and I am glad we are not. On the 3 games I have seen, I think our midfield is more than adequate, and I was very impressed with Oneil, but we need to score the goals that our play deserves and I would love to see Peter Crouch back. I would also like to see us go for Matt Phillips and I think that Baird and Konchesky will only improve us. [Post edited 19 Aug 2013 19:28]

Well I only saw saturday and it was far from great football, we looked more like a championship side in the amount of times we conceded possession and the dourness of some of the football but with Austin we certainly had a striking presence which we have not had for some time.
We desperately need one or two forwards, and a winger. In Mbia we have ball playing centre half and another enforcer and in Diakete we have a box to box midfielder, but apparently they are the wrong sort (or French) |  | | |

You are a hard man to please. Ipswich were considered by many to be one of the contenders and we restricted them to one effort on goal and had numerous, very good chances. We SHOULD have won by 4 or 5 and that is where my concern lays. But we are a class above every other Championship side we have played so far. | |

Don't understand where this Bolton rumour's come from if he's been training with us, is settled in London, and (if Freedman is to be believed) we're prepared to pay more. I'd assumed the delay in signing him was down to him waiting in case a Prem club came in.
Still think we could do with a creative/box to box central midfielder - we've got enough Parkers, it's a Modric we need. O'Neil perhaps.
If the board are prepared to splash the cash I think we may as well invest in the best players at our level now - the likes of Bridcutt, Harry Arter , Adam Forshaw. Rhodes even.
As wingers go I also think Gary Mackay-Steven in Scotland is worth a punt. Mickey mouse league I know but won't cost much either. |  | | |

I'd love to see us sign Adam Forshaw, from the few Brentford games I went to last year and a couple of mates, he sounds like the sort of player we ought to be after. Can't see him being Harry's type. Ed Upson of Yeovil's always looked good too.

I'd say we desperately need another creative winger, Hoilett has looked class but has zero cover. SWP did alright but never once looked like he really had control of the ball. Barton I would like to see in the centre, O'Neill was class, but looks more like a CM. Another player able to whip a decent cross in, able to play both wings preferably. Townsend would have been decent but who knows what Harry's quotes actually mean in regards to him. Assaidi on loan would have been interesting but that seems to have gone dead.
