Superb win. Che Adams was immense tonight in the way he led the line. Great performances throughout the team. Bella- Kotchap was a rock at the back.

Well that was a big improvement over the corresponding fixture last year! Thoroughly deserved win for Saints, with the whole team working hard and being well organized. Chelsea barely had a chance and Saints could easily have got one or two more goals on top of the two superb strikes we registered. Kudos in particular to Moi and A Armstrong who ran their socks off. Che also had a terrific game with great hold up play and getting in the grille of the Chelsea defenders.

Great performance from all and so happy to see AA put one away, his form and work rate have earned that,
But to pick out individuals would be wrong just accept the three points and be happy.
Lavia's injury could be a long term problem but hopefully not tooo long!

Fantastic performance. Spot on tactically and everyone ran themselves into the ground. ABK not only exceptional but starting to boss and organise, perhaps we have a leader in our midst? Lavia will be a real miss if he is badly injured - seemed to be walking OK after the final whistle. Crowd great too, especially when we went behind.

Sorry Avior, my fat fingers hit minus on your comment by mistake and I can't change it.

Enjoyable game that seemed to go in phases. We started well, then Chelsea had a good period with several chances, then we came back into it and final 29 minutes was backs to the wall defending. We were better than 2-1 winners really

Lavia and ABK were superb, as said above ABK seems to be a natural leader. Full backs were free to roam, Perraud often seemed to be lined up in attack. Lavia, Sali and ABK appear to operate as a fairly tight triangle in defence. Great communication and skill on show from all 3.

Arma and Moi ran themselves into the ground and often made something out of nothing. Great to see Arma score - fully deserved.

Che was winning everything in the box. Just needs someone to be playing off him.

However it was a team win and yesterday everyone put a shift in.

The only criticism I would have is that for the last 20 minutes we could again barely hang onto the ball. Just invited constant pressure onto us. Made for a thrilling finish tho.

Finally the coaches were in constant discussion. Ralph appears to have the back up he now needs.

Next up one of our Bogey sides. Hopefully if we play like this we can get something out if it. 7 points at the end of August is great for us.

What a difference with Ralph working with his backroom staff. Chelsea's worst performance so far this season but we still had to put them to the sword and hang on to the lead which we did with grit, persistence and determination. I wonder if Broja is still glad he went back.

A really good match to watch, great team effort and deserved win.
Another record btw :-D as Lavia is the youngest to have scored a goal in the PL. (So we have fastest goal (Shane L), fastest hattrick (Mané), youngest goalscorer + best (currently playing) free kick scorer = records we can be proud of).

Lavias injury looked like 'a partially pulled hamstring' and hopefully meaning maximum 5 weeks absence, hopefully less.

On a positive note:

1) So happy for Lavia that he does so well for the team and that he became youngest PL scorer ever.

2) Surely Ralph will NOT sell Oriol now. Oriol loves Southampton, we love him and his experience, and I hope we agree a new 2 year contract with him instead of shipping him out for almost nothing to Girona or whatever that promoted la Liga team is called, that allegedly wants to sign him. He is too good to let go for peanuts to a small, Spanish team.
Diallo as our only defensive midfield cover is clearly not enough, respectfully.

Btw - good to see a match without almost having a heart attack because of bad refereeing, for a change.

I_Would, did you not see Leeds hammer Chelsea?
Can you not just give some credit to a really good team performance or would it hurt you a bit too much?

Blockhead 8.

What part of "but we still had to put them to the sword and hang on to the lead which we did with grit, persistence and determination" did you not understand?
