I was in the Kingsland, you know the part where ‘Southamptofan’ says day trippers & tourists sit! I didn’t see any of them but good loud Saints fans who stood up throughout & gave the Skate Skum plenty. With the Chapel Kop one side & the Kingsland tourists on the other, they didn’t get much chance to be heard apart from the odd usual rendition that got quickly drowned out. Seeing their faces at the final whistle was priceless, though relieved, our celebrations were truly wild. ‘‘Twas loud n proud, a good day out & thankfully the result we wanted After all the recent shenanigans around the club & the biggest game yet, we need our first away win on Wednesday to kick on. COYRs! |

Papillon is a great small venue & they book some great artists there. The Lovely Eggs sometime ago & I saw Pigs x7 a couple of weeks ago & have tickets for the Guest List. Chameleons at the Engine Rooms end of this month. Lots more playing that might interest others, get out there & support these small venues. |

Yep me too!…1984. This was an amazing game, the feeling you just can’t describe to the fan of today. Whenever we scored especially in away games back then, it was complete bedlam. Could list many games when this happened, the elation, camaraderie as you hold someone up as the crowd surged in all directions & then looking for your mates as you’ve ended up several yards away on the terrace, grinning like a the proverbial cheshire! I’ve never forgiven Claus Landvekam & co for that shameful performance, they let us down massively. We needed a strong capt. he looked lost & scared lining up in the tunnel, I still shake my head thinking about it. |

Love a good factual book/film Went to see Pressure last night, a great insight into how the weather played an important part in the planning of D-Day. I’ve just finished the book on The Cover Up at Omaha Beach, thought provoking & another untold story. Now I’m several chapters into a biography by Kathy Valentine called All I Ever Wanted. |

In Skatesville now, Rudimental first, they’re great live to get you dancing & in the mood. My list for today…The Coral, Cast, Vaccines, Hard-Fi, maybe Scissor Sisters then Richard Ashcroft. Tomorrow, Teen Jesus the Jean Teasers,Tom Ayres, Lottery Winners, Happy Mondays though seen them a few times, bit samey now but… then the Doves, Nile Rodger’s/Primal Scream then the Black Keys. Sunday…going to try Sigrid, Reef, The Enemy then half of Sleeper, James Arthur, looking forward to the Streets then Kasabian who I’ve not seen since the IoW some years ago & Tom was leading. Are they still as good live with Sergio? Hopefully we don’t get too wet! |
